Olivia is beloved by critics and actors, and yet a couple of critics were saying that apparently some SAG members were telling them they hated Lost Daughter and her character (like, it shouldn't matter if they like her character or not for her to be nominated, but that sort of trivial thing is interesting...). So yeah, very unpredictable.

Olivia wasn't nominated either! Kristen is clearly the Carrie Mulligan of this year. Both heavily backed by American critics. Except Promising Woman was actually a very entertaining movie. Maybe they are campaigning for her

I haven’t read anything about that though I'm 90% sure it was mentioned on film twitter a while back that she was attending some screenings.

That’s good for her. HoG has AMPAS screenings scheduled for November, December and even January. So it’s clear that MGM is prepared to campaign hard. Meat 18,962
Do you guys think that MGM is ready to spend money on Gaga because she brings them a lot of business in Vegas? Her residency holds all the top 10 spots for the highest earning shows in Vegas history.

I'm still kind of torn on if she will win or not (if she doesn't, my guess is because of the movie...apparently some SAG voters were so so on the film but loved her...and the fact that she doesn't have an 'overdue' narrative). Everyone loves talking about her and she generates that "buzz" they all love. Have you checked the Charts Thread today?!

SharGaga 2,906
So I just watched the movie. Like many already said the pacing in between scenes are a bit jarring. The timeline moves fast as is expected since this is not a limited series. And it does have a little bit everything from romcom to drama to fashion film to thriller. The second part of the movie does feel like a different movie but not in a bad way. It does feel like they left some important scenes out in the script or maybe it didnt make the cut. I would love to have seen more about how she got caught by the police and the planning of the murder. As far as Gaga goes she nailed every scene and really did the best with every scene she had. The critics didnt lie about that. I'm so proud of her. Her acting was so natural and effortless. She really embodied the role of a woman in a mans world and also a lower class woman climbing her way to the top and helping her husband along the way only to be discarded by him like trash. She made her character so much more complex and interesting by ****ing amazing acting. She really made this film for me. The final scene is iconic tbh. Tbh it was a fun movie. Some of the gucci business scenes without Gaga I didnt care for though. Gaga deserves an oscar nom and maybe Leto but thats it. I don't know about her winning chances if she gets nominated bcause i feel the fast pacing in between scenes and huge time gaps might hurt her chances. Some events definitely needed more build up imo. Still I think she was absolutely iconic in this role and will for sure be remembered.

Carey's part and that movie were pretty controversial while Kristen is playing one of the most beloved public figures ever so idk about that we shall see!
