Australia lets in Caitlyn Jenner while its citizens are stuck overseas

California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner flew to Australia a few days ago as lockdown measures have left citizens of the country stranded overseas and unable to return home.

Caitlyn Jenner was allowed into Australia to appear on "Big Brother".  Despite leaving California two months before a recall election, she said she's still vying to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Australia instituted a limit on the number of incoming flight passengers it receives each week, as part of measures to control the pandemic.
The cap was slashed in half on July 14 and now about 3,000 passengers are allowed to enter the country each week.

The decreased cap, set to be in place at least until August 31, was bad news for the more than 30,000 citizens who have registered with the government as stuck abroad and wanting to come home.

I also don’t understand what’s Caitlyn’s deal. She’s running for a governor yet wants to do trash TV shows? She will obviously lose and she’s loaded for at least 2 lifetimes. What is she trying to accomplish idgi

I mean the Australian government is also against the Great Barrier Reef being classified as "in danger" by the UNESCO, because that would mean they couldn't plow gigantic cargo boats through the corals to ship off coal to India anymore or continue the touristic overexploitation they're currently doing.

If Australia has a policy about letting people into the country for essential business that could be why. Yes reality tv isn't essential but if she has a contractual obligation to do the show, it is business.
