CommonWhiteGirl 1,039
This is what I hate about politics. This is actually not a bad idea (in general I don't know the specifics) but unfortunately the US is so divided that if Biden did something like this is would polarize the country even further and he probably wouldn't win re-election... on the flip side, if Biden wasn't up for re-election then he would probably have already done it. Irritating how politicians literally play with people's lives like this.
Flawless 2,236
All the world should be doing this, we are TIRED of this ****ing virus and all his variants risking lives. There isn't space for antivaxers and conspiracionists anymore. enough is enough, Macron is doing what is right the scars on my mind are on replay. In the Netherlands we have tried the 'test society' with people that weren't vaccinated (or just one day). And cases went from 500 to 11.000 in only one week time. Taking the vaccine is not only about yourself, but also about the people around you.

27monster27 15,857
I agree with what France is doing, and I wish it would be done everywhere as well. I don't agree with the inability to go to hospitals though, but besides that this is fine. he/him/his
Cavadour 2,704
Not that I still have argument for some of you vaxxers. But I'm sick and tired to read things like covidiots and other type of extremist rethoric. So outside of my support to people open to dialog you can consider this post as my last one in this mess of a thread. I'm 66 and you can picture me as the old geezer standing on the porch of his log cabin with a trusty double-barrel shotgun of Doom under his arm. So to people who wish death to boomers and to vaxxer extremists, you'll be easy to spot in you brown uniform, black V on a red-white arm band... Right now I'm fighting pyelonephritis in a swiss hospital. I'm not vaxed for reasons I explained earlier in this thread. So I asked for a pcr test the first day. Negative. In my room, I'm allowed to stay unmasked, as any other patient, while the whole personnel is wearing masks. So happy to not live in Macronie. This won't refrain frenchies to escape totalitarism and come here for healthcare. Switzerland has never been part of the EU and decisions are voted by the people. No way such a dictatorship could happen in our country. To people who LMAO'd me cause I said I'll avoid vax mandatory places in the future I tell you this : terrasses, restaurants, cinema venues, nightclubs, festivals (I lived 20 years near Montreux) were my daily fun in my 20/30. I soked up the nightlife, believe me. Rn, to pile up in overcrowded places is not appealing anymore. Streaming and download allows to avoid pop-corn stinking noisy cinema halls. Interests shift. So yes, if I ever want to travel across the border in the future I'll put things in balance before I go. To GGD vaxxers extremists and boomers killers wannabes, you can keep your sarcasms to yourself unless you desperately need to spread more of what's squirming in the despicable minds of yours. This post reflects my simple opinion. It's NOT intended as flamebait. So mods, thanks in advance to not fine me. It's depressing and arbitrary considering the content of some posts in this thread. Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

MelbHawker 6,583
I can’t believe there’s so many who are supporting a vaccine mandate like the one in parts of Europe. I’ll be getting my vaccination once Australia gets it’s **** together, don’t get me wrong.. it’s just not something I believe should be enforced onto an entire population. It should be a choice. Threatening to stop paying an employee based on vaccination status or refuse them medical treatment.. Most people I know who don’t want the vaccination yet aren’t ‘anti vax’ - some are concerned about the long term impacts it may have on fertility, on general health etc. Others have health conditions that make them ineligible to receive the vax. The vaccine is still in its trial phase here in Australia & is only been authorised for emergency use; some have said they’ll wait for data upward of 3-5 years & then they’ll decide whether they want it. Some simply don’t want to get the vaccine & would rather rely on their immune system VS Covid. I don’t see anything unreasonable about the above.. I have no words for the extremist anti vax folk / conspiracy theorists though.
