I get that this is controversial but when I was 15, I dated someone who was 19 and at 17 someone who was 21. Neither side was looking for a specific age, never felt predatory, everything was and always had to be consensual. If anything I was better treated, as I appreciated the maturity compared to the weirdos in school. Looking back, I never felt preyed on or taken advantage off. This might not be the case for everyone. What I’m trying to say is sometimes both sides are factors to this. If this guy was pushing himself on Millie, yes all hell needs to break loose towards that behavior but if Millie actually wanted to date this guy, do any of us have a say really? You can’t control the actions of minors, especially teens who are quite rebellious. Do I think that such relationships are healthy? In most cases they are not and probably illegal but there also needs to be accountability on both sides. An adult figure in Millie’s life should have provided guidance for Millie and made her aware that there are probably healthier relationships for her. The point of all of this, is let’s not jump to conclusions and call someone manipulative or predatory, especially when we haven’t heard as such from Millie. It could just boil down to poor or questionable choices.

My first gf was 14 I was 16. After one year together we went to her parents asking for the pill. Her mom was scandalized. Her dad asked his wife to shut up, cause to his eyes we were responsable kids. He always supported us.

God, where is her guardian? She might be not cognitively developed to do a relationship that serious. They lived together? Man, that thing's seriously messed up. I know age is just a number, but we need to believe in science (biology and maybe psychology). I hope she didn't and won't do something that she will regret later in life, at least until 18.

no, it’s not. A 16 yo person is still a child and hasn’t fully matured and developed yet. A 16yo and a 20yo want very different things in life, and it’s very easy for the adult one in the relationship to take control over and manipulate the child and relationship. I was in the same position, when I was 16 and got manipulated into a toxic relationship with a 20yo, who would control me, forbid me of seeing my friends etc and then play it all on the "you’re still a child, you don’t know" excuse. A 16yo person is still a child, and it’s creepy that a grown ass man is interested in a child.

I think this is more controversial in the USA compared to Europe (at least compared to my country). My parents started to date when my mother was 16 years old and my dad was 21 years old. That’s quite normal to me.

However, there is a lot of variation in the maturity amongst 16 year-old youngsters, so I understand the concern. I started dating when I was 17 years old and if you ask me now, I wish I had been a bit older.

No it is not. It happens sure, but it‘s barely legal. Idk where in Germany you‘re from, but please don’t say all of us herr are preying and grooming younger girls. That‘s just not true
