I feel like Gaga will focusing more on getting Acting Oscars this time tho.

but in the end the two categories are voted by completely different voters, and she can only benefit from the buzz if she gets two nominations again.

Although, we are discussing nominations and wins, and we haven't even seen the movies yet. Gaga fans feel really entitled about awards.

Well, if it was vomit, it wasnt that bad all things considered: awesome soundtrack, first ever tragic ending in the Alien franchise, a little lgbt stuff (the marine couple, not the droids Judas kiss)... not so bad

Idk about this

Ripley's entire crew died in the first one; only Hicks, Newt, Bishop, and Ripley survived the second one; Ripley straight up died in the third, there were no major survivors...Resurrection ended on an ok note but if I were to direct a sequel to it, I'd have it become something like the Earth War comics :enigma:

But I agree with the rest. I personally thoroughly enjoyed Prometheus and Covenant  it was nice to have Ridley's allusions and mythos around again 'cause with each sequel, the alien films lowkey just became slasher flicks :rip: I was actually ok with his original intentions on focusing more on the engineers and less on the aliens.

Billionaires are a cancer. Even the ones you like.

Yeah I'm wondering how they're gonna handle that, I was thinking they'll probably just push whichever is getting better reviews when the movies are first screened

I'm surprised there's no trailer for The Last Duel yet, bcs it comes one month before Gucci :oprah:

That's not how it works as they are distributed by different studios. So, neither will step back. It could be the case that one studio puts up more cash for a campaign but they will not collaborate on a strategy as they're different companies each out for themselves.

I think Amazon's acquisition of MGM will help House of Gucci. Where MGM had been flagging, Amazon has shown a strong desire to compete at the Oscars and they have more cash than MGM did as a solo company to fund an awards campaign. They got Sound of Metal into Best Actor and Best Picture last year. To be honest, it's probably more important to Gucci where it sits in relation to Amazon's other awards contenders than to The Last Duel, as that's distributed by another company. Amazon will ultimately decide what to prioritize with their campaign dollars. But so far, Gucci seems like it will be a high, if not top, priority for them. The only real issue here is for Scott for Director as the vote could split there. But Gaga is no better or worse off, I think.

Perhaps I should've said real tragic ending... all the other films end with a spark of hope (Ripley and Jonesey alive after getting rid of alien, Ripley has a new family with Hicks and Newt, dies but exterminates the xenos... etc). But this one... cero percent hope, David won and Daniels and the Hat pilot are most likely gonna be cut in pieces in their sleep for his experiments. I freaking loved that super dark ending when it came out, it's a nice change.
