Favorite movies: Black Swan (and I love most of Aronofsky's movies), Spirited Away (and most of Miyazaki's movies are up there too), Mommy (and Dolan's movies in general), The Night of the Hunter, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Kill Bill (and Tarantino's movies in general), Sunrise, Blue is the warmest color, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Paprika Then movies I really liked in no particular order: Get Out, Whiplash, Raise the red lantern (and Zhang Yimou's movies in general), The Lobster, Abre los ojos, 3 Billboards, All about Eve (and Mankiewicz's movies in general), Old Boy, Seppuku, Persona, His Girl Friday, The General (Buster Keaton's movies too), Paris, Texas, many Scorsese's movies especially Shutter Island and Goodfellas, Pan's Labyrinth, the Cornetto trilogy, M, Grave of the Fireflies, Silence of the Lambs I can go on and on, I have a list of 62 pages of movies I watched and only went through 6 of them, I think these are the main ones. It's ok baby, from what I can see you like movies with a lot of tension in them and honestly I enjoyed most of them. you got your own taste, I just got offended by La Haine which is one of my favorites ever (btw from that list I despise Kill Bill and Eternal Sunshine)

Yes, exactly like you said, I like these types of movies! Sorry you got offended for La Haine, I really couldn't get into it at all! (not liking Kill Bill and Eternal Sunshine though ) You popped my heart seams, all my bubble dreams

Oh wow. We actually have a lot of "really liked" movies in common. It was just surprising because your other list covered such a wide breadth of themes and genres of film. Yes, I guess to me movies of artistic work in general is not only about the genre or style, it has to have something more and sometimes I just won't like the direction or artistic choices, or it just won't resonate with me for any reason. It was decent but I really didn't think it was anything THAT special. The acting was phenomenal. But I DESPISE the plot and how it turns out there was a demon orchestrating everything. But the plot felt pretty cliché and not that interesting. Like okay some weird stuff starts happening, she visits a medium, the demon takes over their lives, they all die. The only good thing from those movies were the villains. Mine are: Avatar (never understood the love this movie gets), The Dark Knight (unwatchable except for Joker and Harvey Dent), The Irishman (most boring thing I ever saw, and LONG), The Shape of Water (and I usually like Del Toro), Nomadland (Promising Young Woman should have won Best Picture, not this one). I actually liked Joker (2019) but boy, isnt it depressing.
