INNA 3,788
This is about a 5 minute watch detailing some of the black communities that seemingly disappeared in the early 20th century. This is probably the most blatant example of physical erasure I’ve ever seen and quite disturbing. And what’s worse is many of these projects were funded or carried out by US government. fragment-fragment--bul-uh...scab-uh..fragment-foot, bullet fragment foot bich! American history shouldn’t surprise you when you take into consideration how messed up Human history is in general. All the wars, slavery, racism, xenophobia, etc. it’s amazing we’re all still alive today
OysterBaby 450
The race riot of 1912 in Oscarville was a tragedy and a disgusting display of white supremacy in America, and is really just one of hundreds of examples of how unfairly black Americans have always been treated. but I think it is worth noting that the lake was not created until 44 years later.. and it was created because Atlanta (which is 50% black) needed water, flood protection, and electricity. Sometimes the full story is not told to grab a headline.
