The first 3 I think are best as far as reimagining and making the song their own..

I love this version of Judas, as someone on another thread commented it's campy and fun. I didn't know bounce music before but now I'm checking it out

TEOG idk it's just good 

BTW, I actually really don't like country music but I can still appreciate this is good. He has really nice voice which goes with the song well I think

You & I is good but the vocals just personally I don't like as much maybe a little too soft or something

I love Highway Unicorn and I like parts of this version but some epicness is lost and some parts sound like they're reading the lyrics as they go  Also the outro, which is normally one of my favorite parts is kind of flat 

Everyone seems to love Marry The Night but for me her voice doesn't blend well with the instrumental, it sounds so separate. And I am not really a fan of the singing style on it

I appreciated Ben Platt’s passion in Yoü and I…but I’d have to say Highway Unicorn, Marry The Night and for sure Judas. The other 3…looking back they’re just okay for me.

MTN - nice cover, love the disco vibe

BTW - voice is good but nothing really reimagined from gagas country road version, new lyrics are a plus

J - the only one that’s actually reimagined for me, it’s interesting and new

HU - I actually really love this cover, I’m not familiar with them but i enjoyed it

Y&I - Ben platts voice is heavenly and I could listen to him forever, not really reimagined tho

TEOG - it’s okay, I like the production

No clear favorites. Tbh I had to listen to each song several times before liking them. But at this point I love them equally. They’re fresh without being experimental: which is what the original BTW was anyway. Sorry it’s not a proper ranking, but that’s how i feel

You and I - loove how he plays with his voice. Heartful

Highway Unicorn - again, it was REIMAGINED!  Abba vibe, catchy and somehow haunting??

Born This Way - beautiful vocal delivery, it was my first time hearing Orville and it shoooook me

Marry The Night - overproduced vocals but the ending kinda slaps 

TEoG - this one could not exist and I wouldn’t notice

For me:

1. Judas - Big Freedia

Lots of you are sleeping on this, Freedia is incredible and her style really works with this song.

2. Marry the Night - Kylie Minogue

Queen Kylie really makes this song her own, and I think the disco style really translates well with the song and Kylie’s voice.

3. The Edge of Glory - Years & Years

Olly Alexander really owns the songs and it’s an interesting interpretation of the song.

4. Highway Unicorn (Road to Love) - The Highwomen, Brittney Spencer & Madeline Edwards

I think the harmonising and layering of their voices really work for the song, especially in the verses, and the song really translates well into the style they chose to do it in.

5. Born This Way (The Country Road Remix) - Orville Peck

His voice is sublime on the track and the updated lyrics definitely modernise the track. Interesting take on the remix.

6. Yoü and I - Ben Platt

Love Ben, his voice is beautiful but I found this version rather bland and felt like the song lost a lot of its bite.

 

Overall I love the idea of the reimagining and it’s a fun project for fans to collect and to celebrate this era defining album, especially during Pride Month, but I do think they released all the best songs prior to the album. And the album not including the 3 original deluxe tracks (well digitally anyway cos I believe they are gonna be on the vinyl) is a crime.

 

anyway what do you all think and please remember this is just my opinion and I’m not coming for anyone.
