This new feature in Apple Music are really great if you got hardware that actually supports it. By that I mean a legit audiophile quality headphones or sound systems. You certainly nit gonna catch anything so different if you are using $50 Skull Candy or Sony headsets, sorry to say.... Apple said it themselves on their press release that you will need at least AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 (airpods 2, airpods pro, airpods max), or W1 chip (Beats X, Beast Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3 Wireless, and Apple AirPods), as well as the built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac to enjoy this feature. So if you hearing like some channels is missing, it is not the song or mixes, it is just your earphones, or if you own these audiophile grade hardware and it still sounds like nothing, perhaps it is your ears. Because not everyone have that kind if ears. There are studies for it. Like, say, this one: https://online.berklee.edu/takenote/high-fidelity-music-streaming-can-you-tell-the-difference/ Thanks for coming to my TedTalk I mean, it should work on any headset that has 3D audio (basically all) since headphones are different than TV speakers... https://www.whathifi.com/news/apple-music-spatial-audio-will-work-with-all-headphones At least if this and 8D audios on YouTube work:
Doug 186
Kind of funny to say that it won't work on cheap headphones but it works on the phones built in speakers lol...

Also that article is posted before this feature live on Apple Music, take a look around and see how many people can't hear difference between spatial and regular audio on its launch day today in practice. You need to make sure you have the right equipment to experience it, whether that’s a Dolby Atmos soundbar, a DTS:X-touting AV receiver, or a pair of Apple AirPods Pro/max the least. Apple's Spatial audio uses the built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes inside Apple’s earbuds and headphones to track the position of your head, as well as the position of your iPhone or iPad. That means that, when you watch films on your iPhone or iPad, the sound will always be placed correctly based on the action on the screen – so, if you turn your head or shift your device, it will still sound as though the sound is coming from the screen. You're still comparing what should essentially be movie theatre surround sound quality to come out of tiny shitty phone speakers. Call it whatever specs you want but they're still tiny shitty phone speakers you're not going to hear anything interesting out of them.

Yes I have which is why I think what they're saying is incredibly misleading. You need ANY high quality speakers/headphones to notice a difference that dolby atmos offers. Yet they're saying only their products are compatible and that somehow the phone's speakers are going to give you surround sound quality...like realistically $50 skull candy headphones will actually be a better medium than the phone's speakers. Edit: for reference I listened to chromatica on Sennheiser headphones and then let the audio play through the speakers of iphone 12 pro max to compare and the speakers simply showcased nothing compared to what it sounded like on the headphones. Which brings me to the fact that they should just admit that any good hardware works and don't try to convince people that they're going to get any dolby atmos value out of the phone's built in speaker. You are talking about speakers, but the point was about headphones and all headphones work. Maybe not with the accelometer and gyroscope but with the Dolby Atmos at least. And AirPods Max doesn't support lossless quality. Proof: https://www.gearbrain.com/dolby-atmos-apple-music-setup-2653277580.html "The great news is that spatial audio and Dolby Atmos work with any headphones connected to a device running Apple Music, not just AirPods." Don't understand any of the stuff in OP but if the AirPod Pro spatial audio setting is anything to go by I am not excited Well Chromatica doesn’t have spatial audio, they’re using Dolby Atmos. Spatial audio tracks your movement & moves the sound in accordance with the direction you’re facing. I haven’t found any using the spatial audio feature yet but Dolby Atmos sounds great so far. Also I’m using AirPods Pro & they’re fine lol way better than my regular AirPods in terms of sound & definitely noise cancellation as regular AirPods doesn’t have that at all. JusKeepBreathin 19,311
It think it's so funny the Apple has just now added Spatial and loss less audio when everyone else has had it for like a year now.
