I was scared too. He was very kind. I always hate bothering him with a passion because he's so busy all the time. Bothering him literally freaks me out.

I actually did not have an invitation. I heard rumours and followed them..... to the Abbey. I felt even worse about "just showing up." But I tried to be bravely present and just go with it even though I had no invitation. I was allowed to get a table and order food/drinks in the outside patio.

I was under the stage when Gaga got the key <3 

 

I did have to tell them at the entrance to the bar if I'd been vaccinated or not. I had my card with me in my purse for just such a moment but I didn't ask. My mom was there too, she didn't want to go in so she stayed outside and had iced teas. Thankfully she could sit because the whole crush of people would have been too much for her.

I did have a lot of fun, but I felt guilty a lot of the time because I had followed rumours instead of being officially invited, but, it didnt go so bad once I met Bo and Shangela; and Lexie and Marc, the latter of the two remembered me from the Satellite Dive Bar Tour and Haus Labs Pop Up at the Grove. Incredibly, Shangela remembered my first meeting with her from 2013. I could NOT believe it, but she did. I haven't spoken to her in 8 years.

JudasJoeManson is straight up INCREDIBLE to see in person. She was having a lovely time dancing and took a photo with me.

She was so nice. I need to send her remixes from my stashes. 

 

 

Before I hugged people, I always said I was vaccinated with Pfizer first because I felt so scummy not wearing the mask. Everyone was very nice and all were vaccinated too.

I was just very quietly having fun and trying to follow Lexie and Marc around and chat, but eventually my street cred wore out and I wasn't allowed to follow them anymore. Security did not let me follow. Which is okay. They have a special sacred relationship with Gaga and the Haus that is physically tangible, and all my senses told me do not f*ck with that in any way shape or form, they are in the inside of that relationship and I am 100 percent not part of it and I do not want to bother them or get underfoot on that.

Marc was very nice afterwards too, he explained a lot of things to me that I can't talk about, he is not the villain that he was made out to be online. So again I respect his unique situation.

It was really lovely to be in the right place at the right time. I'll write more about it tomorrow.

@ChicaSkas, that's amazing! Don't feel bad about following the rumor, a lot of times that's just what you have to do to be in the lucky crowd. You got to meet some fabulous people and were respectful about it. So happy for you! Thank you for sharing about your experience - can't wait to hear about it some more tomorrow.

Not me driving 6 hrs to and from LA in under 24 hrs to go to Urban Outfitters only to leave an hour before all this began  I didn’t even know this was happening until I was 300 miles away

I still felt.... on the outside looking in, but very happy to be there , but not wanting to push my luck? And still try to make sure others got to be seen, and not forget to be seen a little too. 

Imposter syndrome at its finest lol. 

Anxiety through the roof but also some joy!! 

It was truly so lovely though. My mind wont turn off from it. I was so effing lucky to be there.

I know the feeling from times I've done the same with other artists lol. It's a mix of excitement / disbelief / thinking you may get told to leave any minute / wanting to play it cool to not stand out / blah lol! You may get little sleep tonight ha! It was such a special day, her getting the key, them declaring it BTW day, and you were right there just feet from her when she gave the speech, how special!!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I definitely wouldn't feel bad about following the rumors, especially since you were so respectful of boundaries. That's awesome you got to talk to Bo, Bobby, and Shangela, and several fans, among others.  I'm glad Gaga got to be honored this way; she deserves the joy, especially after all she's been through and recently making such a brave declaration to the world about her intensely personal struggles.

I'm so glad you got to experience that. Also, thank you for the reminder to not always let the wrong rumors fuel your own opinion. I can definitely take that story and remember that for future interactions in and out of the Gaga world. You are more than deserving to have been there and thank you for everything you do to maintain a kind community within Gaga's fanbase.
