4 of the 5 most vaccinated Countries in the world as a percentage of population are unexpectedly facing major new covid19 outbreaks

Of the 5 most vaccinated only Israel is not facing a new outbreak

A common denominator among the other 4 is that many of the shots given were from the Chineese vaccine putting into question its effectiveness

Edit:

Spoiler

The point of this thread is to highlight that high vaccination rates dont garantee an outbreak or spike cant still happen as some had hoped high rates of vaccination would significantly reduce spread rate with low viral loads and that for now restrictions may need to be put in place longer than expected. Theres also a specific vaccine put into question here relative to the others the one developed in China

The point of this is not to discourage anyone from getting vaccines in fact i have been very pro vaccines and vocal about it for a long time and anyone that has followed me for a while should know that

I hope this clarifies things as a few seem to have misinterprered this as fear mongering (even tho its literal news as is). And frankly being aware of any negative limitations of vaccines is actually critical to fighting pandemic

Im not going to argue back and fourth anymore with those who insist on accusing me of discouraging vaccinations or spreading misinformation as ive done nothing of the sort and my record defending vaccines should of proven that by now so if u still wanna believe lies spread about me im not gonna waste my time arguing anymore

The vaccines weaken the virus once you get it. People will still catch it. That's how vaccines work. They are not invisible barriers.

This is fine.

I mean it's to be expected, I think. We are only beginning to scratch the surface of understanding how this virus mutates and develops into different strains. Compared to where we were last summer though, I think we are in a better position. Covid, like other airborne illnesses, will not be eradicated. We are going to have to learn to start living with it.

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

The important numbers are if people get very sick & hospitalized again or even die, even if they have had the vaccine. Then I would be very worried ... I hope it will not happen. :bradley:

What a lot of people don't understand about vaccines is that they're really only effective in eradicating a disease if heard immunity is reached. Viruses mutate extremely quickly and even if you're fully vaccinated there's still a 5% chance that you'll get Covid.

Look at what happened in New York early 2019 with the Measles outbreak. That disease was pretty much eradicated until some idiot anti-vaxxers caused it's resurgence by breaking the heard immunity threshold.

In order for Covid to be fully behind us the entire world has to reach heard immunity, not just a handful of wealthy countries.

Yes but they were suppostu significantly reduce transmission and in vast majority of cases keep u asymptomatic and help create herd immunity to supress virus (or at least thats what we were hoping for tho there was always question marks on how easily you could still spread it)

Im not saying u cant get virus still, we been knew... but were talking an outbreak... Vaccines were hoped to help end pandemic and now what were seeing is at least some of the vaccines allow outbreaks to happen anyway when restrictions arent there :(

Some of these werent wealthy Countries tho if in any part ur refering to them. I hope the suspicions that the Chineese vaccine may not he effective are part of it and that Pfizer, Moderna and Az predominantly being given in West do in fact work better

I was talking about the vaccine rollout in general and how many very poor countries aren't expected to meet heard immunity until 2024 or something crazy like that. I drifted kinda far from OP topic :laughga:
