Well, if Gaga were in Katy's precarious situation and kept desperately trying to get a hit with successive weak songs, I would personally ask her to take a break for a creative makeover. The woman was literally in the maternity ward about to give birth to her daughter and even so she continued to promote her album, all for the album to debut with 50k copies in the first week and spend only 4 total weeks on the chart. She (and her fans) think that one in the situation she is in, a hiatus would be worse than continuing with these constant releases, but this is exactly the mistake she is sinning for and that is why her career is falling apart in front of our eyes. She does not reinvent herself, she does not bring anything to the public that we have not heard from her and she also does not let go of the bone to rethink what has happened to her career since Prism. Even Gaga's pop albums are all very distinctive, exploring different topics, themes, sounds, producers,... Katy is repeating same formula for almost 10 years (and I love her music except for Smile). It’s really cute, I mean it sounds a lot like a typical Katy song (mixture of Chained to Rhythm vibes? and perhaps something else).
