And that sounds... good? Instead of dealing with the root of the problem, we just let men marry more women to 'save' them? What even...

Btw men are not even allowed to marry another woman without the permission of the first one, she has the right to divorce herself from the man if she‘s against it and he even has to pay her a defered dower (15k to 30k $) in this case after that, that’s what Islam tells NOT the patriarchal arab culture

like @Regina George said there WAS a time where some things in the Qur’an were meant for certain timelines just like it is in every religion out there especially the monotheistic ones, this doesn’t mean that we can use it in the 21st century like some arab bigots are using it behind patriarchal thoughts

May the innocent soul this thread is about rest in power and may we learn to co-exist on this earth, no matter what religion, what belief or sexual orientation we have or not.

good night.

Alright this is going in circles and I'm over it. I have more useful things to do than to prove what has already been proven endless times before goodbye

I won't comment on everything because i have no energy but let's get out of the "arab bigots" rhetoric because non-arab Muslims can also be extremely bigoted and I've witnessed truly mind-boggling things spewed by them. Arabs can be bigots, so can anyone else on the planet.

And I didn't say otherwise. Scroll back, I said organized religion as a whole is concerned with this.

I am just stating both religions regard women the same way. ~_~U

I’m born into Islam. I was opposed to it before my mom started teaching me about it and before I actually read Qur’an.. I’m muslim but I am not doing every “order”

Sounds like my grandma and the teachings of Jesus :diane: I don't believe in him anymore but there's nothing wrong with practicing patience, forgiveness, and love.

For example it’s extraordinary what it’s said about human anatomy, stars, sun, earth.. Word month is written 12 times, word day is written 365 times,... it’s so well written that it truly amazed me. ALSO it’s been said in Qur’an than no one will ever be able to understand it 100% and that every human who claims so is wrong. People like to believe in propaganda and that’s what is the worst thing. As for women rights. It’s written for the time that it was published. It gave women A LOT of rights that they didn’t have before. It puts women in such a “holy” position. As for a man being able to marry more than one women. It’s because women back then were killed if they didn’t marry and by giving this right to men at the time, women were protected. People like to hear that a man can marry many women and immediately think of the worst.

There was a member here a while back who went into detail about how the Middle East used to be this progressive wonderland, Muslims were good men of science, all that good stuff. I wish I knew more about it but my anthropology chops have eroded :bradley:

I do know it really wasn't until the mid-1900s that all the current bullsh*t started happening.

Sorry for taking it out on you, you're not responsible for any of this.

My disagreement lays in you saying "if someone can find a source of strength in it or if it compels someone to dedicate their life to changing themselves and others for the better (the real better like feeding the homeless or something) then I don't see a problem with it."

To me, the bad outweighs the good. No matter what good it provides to them, they're still enabling the terrible beliefs of their book. Which is far too much for me to tolerate

But yeah I can see your point and where you're coming from

And I 100% see your point 'cause that was my exact view a few years back :diane:

Which is ****ing stupid.

If God is all powerful, all good and all knowing, he KNOWS what's perfectly moral and has the POWER to tell it exactly as it is

religion is just a bunch of dumbasses making up excuses and lies for their fictional story

which I would have no problem with if said fictional stories weren't the cause of the oppression of entire countries and didn't result in ****ing murder

your HOLY BOOK preaches patriarchal thoughts and "bigots" are much more representative of your religion than you quran-deniers

Don't even get me started on airport employees, for some reason the ones at the airport I most frequently use are always so rude to me and I'm always just so nice to service employees because I know they have to deal with lots of shitty people :fatcat:

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

They were killed by God supposedly and it was nor ordered by other people to kill them. Also it’s Qur’an not Koran. And people in that city were not only homosexuals but pedos, people who slept with animals, people who gambled, people who killed others for fun, etc. Homosexuality was not the reason they were killed but everything else.

Romanised spelling “Koran”.

So god killed all those people for everything BUT homosexuality? Geez Tough break for the gamblers…

No I mentioned the real reasons along with homosexuality. But the message here is - no man should punish anyone. It’s only God who can and should do that.
AKA if someone is gay let the god deal with it and stop putting your nose where it doesn’t belong.

Islam is such a disgusting religion. Mind you, most religions are disgusting and hypocritical and promote hatred and bigotry. But this absolutely disgusting. These religious c*nts can rot in hell. The fact that in 2021 these types of things still exist is mind-boggling to me.
