No thanks.

I love Dua but the desperation she or her label are exhibiting just ain't it for me.

What desparation? :billie: This song was released like 7 months ago. It’s called longevity.

for the sake of pop culture and POP MUSIC.

there are 16 VERSIONS available on the iTunes app right now. ALL DISCOUNTED for $0.69 each

These gimmicks and desperate moves are not "for the sake of pop culture and pop music" honey. Pop Music and Pop Culture are another thing, leave them out of this mess.

This. Like it's honestly pretty pathetic with all these people going "for the sake of pop music" when they had to pull THESE kinds of tricks just to get it to possibly go #1.

Meanwhile Gaga had to hardly lift a finger for any of her recent #1s :classy:

Gaga had to perform in every club in USA, on every TV station, she had to beg radio people to play her single just so she could get that no1 in USA for Just Dance just like Dua is doing now. Don’t undermine women’s hard work just because you don’t stan them. That is petty and disgusting. Also not to mention the fact that this song was released 7 months ago and that she didn’t promote it since the Grammy’s. Just give it up. It’s organic hit.

Like I said, I love Dua and her music. I just don't appreciate all the gimmicks and tricks to get this #1. It reeks of desperation.

You should really stop getting so overly defensive over every person criticizing her for legitimate reasons, it's sad and only shows how pressed and thin-skinned you seemingly are  :huntyga:

Also, I edited my previous post as I meant Gaga's recent #1s she barely had lift a finger for. Her first #1s she worked HARD for and definitely put in the effort to get those, and all WITHOUT the cheap gimmicks, discounts, and remixes, but purely based on her own hustle which I applaud her for. :applause:

Gaga's done plenty of sales-focussed gimmicks throughout her career up to the recent times, so there's no point for any artist to be presented as superior :laughga: They're at two different points in their careers so relating the two based on time is unneeded. A #1 is a #1 and nobody moaned when Lil Nas X did it :hmm:

I also don't appreciate the gimmicks tho in general and think it stifles authentic movement in the charts

I mean... Levitating is already a hit with longevity, so the gimmicks and tricks doesn’t make sense since it’s already a hit. They’re just giving it a final push because there’s a big chance it can go #1, and who wouldn’t want that?

What ?! Miss Dula never got a #1, after all the efforts?! It could be bad for the future of her career if they tried that hard and invested that amount of money for "no results"*, I hope her label and team won't let her down because I like her, future nostalgia is pop perfection!

*I'm not really into charts so I don't know if the ratio investment/results is good, if a chart specialist can enlighten me ;)

Girl relax. Ariana didn't get a number one until her 5th album. It's not that serious.
