I just don’t understand why when particularly people who are heavier set show their body, it’s considered brave. The sentiment seems very patronizing. Like I get it, but I don’t at the same time.

Indeed! I just think that it's because celebrities and Instagram pictures are supposed to have the best body, muscular, toned etc... and posting with a normal body became like rebellious or something
