I only started listening to her music with 1989 but I think Fearless and Red had quite an impact in the industry as well, it's hard to pick just one. Do people outside social media and fans even know about Folklore and Evermore ? I feel like none of the songs have had an impact like the singles from the first albums I just mentioned. I don't know if it's because of the pandemic that the world doesn't really care about the industry right now.

It's Folklore. Regardless of what we like more, context and impact are taken into account. Evermore will be considered a 1b at best with Folklore.

1989 is the most wide reaching and solid album

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

All of the people saying RED, I have to wonder if they’ve listened to her entire discography. :wtfga:

RED is an interesting case because even those who appreciate it can see that it’s a pretty incohesive album. On the one hand, it functioned pretty well as a bridge between her country-pop sound and the pure pop sound that would follow this album. All Too Well will most likely always be the song Taylor Swift fans consider her best, barring perhaps Evermore’s Champagne Problems.

On the other hand, I find this being the Taylor Swift album I return to the least...

I’m writing this post and I’ve come to the part where I’m supposed to explain how this album is weak and I just realized I actually really like this album. :flop:

I’d take 22 off I guess LOL

Anyways

Evermore > Folklore > Speak Now > Fearless TV > Fearless > Reputation > RED > Lover ~ 1989 > Taylor Swift

For me it is between Speak Now, 1989, reputation, and folklore. I chose folklore because it really shows that she still is the queen of songwriting and showed a side of Taylor to non-swifties that she can make amazing music!

For me my ranking of her albums are:

1. reputation

2. RED

3. folklore

4. Speak Now

5. 1989

6. Fearless (Taylor's Version)

7. Lover

8. evermore

9. Taylor Swift

I think all of her albums are amazing masterpieces however this is my ranking.

Part of Red’s effectiveness is its lack of cohesion though. Some albums really do well because they have no through line tying them together, rather they’re a compilation of songs that work amazing together, but also merit individual enjoyment. Imo reputation has the exact opposite problem. (with a few exceptions) Most songs don’t work as well when apart from one another than they do uniformly.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

I went with foklore because I think it best shows off all of her talents in addition to being a massive event. The day she surprised announced it, in genuinely felt like the whole world was talking about it. In the middle of a worldwide pandemic, it felt so huge to see everyone's minds shift, if just for a moment, away from worry to actually looking forward to something. And I think she really delivered on her intentions. The songwriting, her voice, the production, all of it just came together so pristinely. It'll be hard for her to top it.

Red is her best imo although there's some tonal whiplash between a lot of the tracks

Ma'am I guess you didn't get the memo, we all agreed to replace the stolen version cover with the Taylor's Version one.

Let me delete every other album except for Lover, folklore and evermore then  :awkney:
