The neighbor called 911 begging for police to come because the girl was "trying to fight us, trying to stab us, trying to put their hands on our grandma. Get here now!" The girl did not pick up the knife to defend herself. She was the attacker. The cop arrived and told her repeatedly to stop and get down and she didn't. I heard a version where she went inside the house to pick up a knife on The View but I wanted a better source to post. I think Whoopi Goldberg was siting an example of what could have happened instead of what did happen. This isn’t a case of “ I thought they were a threat”, the girl was literally trying to stab the other girl, everyone can see it plain as day. And they didn’t just watch her die, they did provide her care afterwards. Really, the only issue here is that he easily could’ve shot the other girl or a bystander on accident, but he didn’t so no one is gonna care about that. He arrived attempted to de-escalate then pulled his weapon and only discharged the gun when she was lunging at her victim with a knife. Then she was given immediate care by the other officers and the ambulance arrived within 6 minutes. I haven't posted the cam from the other officers. But it's already out there.
