An increasing number are choosing never to marry at all, turning their backs on legal partnerships – and even casual relationships – in favour of having independent lives and careers in what can still be a sexist society despite economic advances. Japan is the most aged society in the world and like u said they have the same issue and im sure family life suffers for it But in sure economics also plays a role too. Southern Europe (Portugal, Greece, Italy etc) are also among the most aged societies and also have exeptionally low birth rates I can tell u having lived in Portugal the income relative to cost of living is absolutely horrendous. The Country has the living cost structure of a developed 1st world nation because it is developed and society functions with the same types of costs ud get here in Canada yet wages are not much more than in a 2nd world developing Country. Ppl just cannot afford kids. When my parents had their 3rd child my younger brother we were literally at the brink and thats when we decided to move back to Canada. A family of 3 children in Portugal these days is almost unheard of. When u tell me ur poor i can relate, ive lived it. A chocolate bar i rememver was a treat my parents had to think about whether or not they could afford it that week when we went grocery shopping (and we had to share it), and in winter when house was like 6C i had to take baths in barely luke warm water because we had to ration propaine I dunno if South Korea has that same issue if it does that may partially explain it Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
