They could be Russia or China, but that would mean they are centuries more advance than us and they have Star Wars-like technology and could easily dominate us on the world stage, except China is still doing stuff like this... If they were smart, they would be monitoring us. Jokes aside, humans aren't really trash, we are still in our infancy as a species and we still have a lot of growing up and evolving to do. IC 1101 is the largest we have found to date, and our nearest is the Andromeda galaxy. In addition to this, there are innumerable amounts of planets in these galaxies--well, maybe not IC 1101, as it's an eliptical galaxy and those are usually dying galaxies.
