I mean, if you have to go to work or school outside the home, that's one thing, as are necessary medical appointments and trips to the store (if you can't get delivery), but otherwise, it really isn't that hard to limit non-essential trips. People don't need to party. It just sucks for those of us who have taken things seriously and limited our non-necessary interactions, but lockdowns are prolonged because of people who don't take things seriously. (My sister didn't have a funeral for her husband who died of cancer last month, and meanwhile people have to go on their precious vacations.) I'm in the US where we're actually doing something right with our vaccine rollout, so the end is finally in sight, and yet you still have these idiots spring breaking in Florida, gathering maskless in larger groups. In my state, our Covid numbers have suddenly skyrocketed again in spite of vaccinations because of all the variants, and people who've yet to be vaccinated are contracting this thing like wildfire. Limiting physical contact with the outside world is challenging, and it's not possible for everyone, but it needs to be done till we achieve herd immunity through vaccination. Juanlittlem 49,437
I cant with some of these comments. If you're going on vacation to other country just to party you're a piece of sh*t, as simple as that. We've all been in a lockdown for a year, its hard for everyone and while Id love to do things, go partying, travelling, celebrate my sister's wedding that has had to be postponed twice WE CANT. The longer people keep acting stupid the longer we will have to wait to go back to normal. Everyone needs the vaccine but while you get it please dont help spread the virus, around the world. Thanks. Madrid is one of the Communities with less restrictions. The thing is non-Spanish people can travel to Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, etc. but you can't travel from Barcelona to Madrid, for example. Travels inside the country are not allowed. Thanks, I already knew that, I was just making a joke in comparison to the flock of young people from outside areas coming into Spain & Florida

Andreu 37,216
Okay staying at home 24/7 for a year is rough for all but there is a middle ground before not leaving your house except it's for work or to get groceries and going to another country to vacation and party. So let's not act like "staying inside sucks1!!!!1" is a valid excuse for doing what they do.

It's not difficult think of others around you before yourself. The thing is, lockdown is tough both physically and mentally. But if people keep breaking lockdown Because of mental health, it'll risk case numbers and health of others. It may seem harmless at first thought, but breaking lockdown will only make lockdown last longer, and could even result in more lockdowns - which nobody wants. I feel lonely, I feel down, I feel sad... and I really really miss an actual conversation with my friends. But I think of my family and I think of myself - do I want to potentially put them at risk by mixing with other people? No. Regardless of how bad I want to travel to another city to hang out with my mates, my family and my own health comes before that, as well as keeping numbers down. I can't imagine how bad I'd feel if I brought covid into the house and suddenly my mum is in ICU... and when I think of it in the bigger picture, its extremely easy to stay at home. I'm not chained to the house, I can go out for shopping and exercise. I think others can do the same There's a cause and effect with actions taken by some people. Either we all stay at home while people get vaccinated, and drive numbers down. Or people say "fck it" and break rules, risking their own health as well as others within the community, and making lockdowns last longer or go back into lockdown for areas with low cases. I would rather not do the latter... we'll all get through this, but we just have to bear with the sacrifices just now End Racism Now

Not partying and constantly worrying is not good for health, either. One of my friends works in retail, selling nail polish and comestics. The times were hard for her even before Corona, because people started to buy things online, making things harder for retail, but her store had the advantage that people could test and try the products in real life which is more difficult online, so she had clients. Her store/chief/boss was receiving some aid from the government during her store was closed, but less than they need to cover the actual costs. Also now there are less restrictions and clients can visit again the store, but they cannot test the products because of covid restrictions. She said this is discouraging people from buying things and they make only 30% of sales figures compared to pre-Corona times. Even worse, they receive no longer government aid because the store is technically no more closed but open. She is expecting the store to go bankrupt during 2021 if things continue like this. The fact that neighboring retails are also about to close soon, will make the entire city-centre less attractive for potential customers buying. A big economic crisis is coming. alsemanche 97,803
Not some of y'all acting like your life depends on going to another country and partying/drinking/etc. You can go out in your own city/village and do 500 things that aren't dangerous and that don't put you and others at risk... Ever heard of picnics? Walks? Outdoor gatherings with very few people while social distancing and wearing masks? Literally nothing justifies this. Soft, soothing, and succulent
