It might be unethical but a lot of people have simply been lying to get one, nowhere is asking for proof.

I'm not going to resort to lying, especially because where I live I'm not sure if would be very effective (we're not yet at the phase of vaccinating people with comorbidities; it's still based on age, with exceptions for people in certain professions who need to show proof). Every now and then I call or show up at vaccine sites around closing time to see if they have extra doses, but no luck thus far –– sometimes the places I show up at aren't giving vaccines that day, etc. However, my US state is supposed to make everyone 16 and up eligible for vaccines next month, so I'll hopefully get it then, and maybe it'll be the one and done Johnson & Johnson, and then I can catch up with everyone.

I'm not super worried; my parents received their second jab, which is what I was most concerned about.

Last step is to open it up to young people who tend to be the super spreaders

In New Zealand we did so well containing and controlling spread in the first place that we aren't slated to start vaccinating until Q4 of this year :huntyga:  I guess it's a good thing that we don't need them like the majority of the world! Still counting my blessings that I got to live a mostly normal 2020, but also fearing what will come from us not getting vaccinated. e.g. being unable to open our borders and missing out on tourism while our economy tanks, people becoming complacent once the hype dies down and less than 85% of our citizens bothering to immunise, large amounts of people travelling once overseas borders are open and bringing it back to our unvaccinated country etc.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I've been whoring it up at the pharmacies trying to get a leftover vaccine, but no luck yet (I'm too "young" and "healthy" and "non-essential" to get one t has far). Come on and jab me!

I am absolutely amazed at how flawless (generally speaking) the vaccination roll out has been going in the States. I said this in another thread but I'll say it again here: if you'd told me back in the fall a country that utterly botched the initial response to covid would emerge as a leader in vaccinations, I would have laughed.

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

Meanwhile in Ireland we’ve been in full lockdown since October except for one month and we have only got 3% of our population vaccinated. With lockdown expected to last til June.

Why does the President always get the full credit (or blame) for everything as if all that goes well or wrong is always his doing and all under his control? :triggered:

When I looked at a rollout schedule, it didn't even have a specified time for my age group besides "later this year" :messga:

I just hope I'm able to get it before the next college semester starts in the fall so I'll be safe if my school goes "Okay the vaccine means everything is happening in person again, have fun being squashed into a tiny room with 100 other people!".

He purchased 300 million vaccines in February. So yeah. Thanks to him. I’m also proud to be an American and to have Biden as my president. Nothing wrong with that
