This is an outdated belief. NASA and the US Geological Survey have done a lot of research on this recently and made the link (within the past 5/6 years IIRC). Climate change not that i know of. But human made objects can when a lot of weight is pressed in an area that throws plates off Like the 3 gourges dam in China alterted the weight of water so much scientists saidbit woukd increase frequency of local earthquates.
