I mean... technically they aren't splitting up. It says that the other two bandmates will still play with Olly live and even help write/produce music. Years & Years will still be together but in a new light 

Its more of a rename to give focus on Olly. Excited for more Years & Years, and Ollys music with his other bandmates

It's a matter of how you view it, "Years&Years will continue as an Olly solo project" can totally be interpreted the way you said
