I never understand why anyone would want to go into politics. Its a thankless often brutal job. Y'all saw how much Obama aged in 8 years and he was a fit, young guy.

I'm hopefully going to have a career in politics. I'm 19 and studying it atm at uni, but it is tiring! I'm with you on it, I don't understand how some politicians keep up such momentum. I was doing some phone calls last week campaigning for the Labour Party and it was a mixed bag of stress and enjoyment. I called somebody and they said "which party are you representing?" and I said "the Labour party", and she simply said "no" and hung up. Probably about 90% I'm in some form of conflict with others over policy and political issues and a lot of that time I'm spending arguing with my own party! It's a crazy thing, but the one thing that motivates me is that I really want to help make a difference in people's lives, whether that's 1 person, 1000 people or 100,000 people, I just want to feel as though I'm giving back to people and making people's lives better in some way. For me, as a local party activist and somebody aspiring to work in the political ranks, that is the primary thing that motivates me.

That's good to hear. I often think most politicians get into it for the right reasons but just get exhausted by the red tape and corruption and they end up being like the stereotypical politician that says all the right things without actually doing anything. And that's the least harmful.. You then have the dirty politicians like Trump  and Cuomo.

Serious question. How do these OAPs have the stamina for the schedules they have to keep? I know Trump was one of the more "lazier" presidents in that he played golf a lot when he should have been doing his job, but he still had to work a lot.

I dunno about others, but Trump is said to abuse stimulants, particularly Adderall.

Thank you! I think a lot of the time it's the corrupt politicians and the ones that bring scandal that receive the limelight. For example, it's usually the national government which receives the most attention, with which most people would associate their national politics with. However, there's so many local politicians and people that work within communities that are so inspiring, yet are often overlooked by national media, since local politics doesn't tend to have the "glamour" of national politics and since their decisions affect a smaller number of people.

eh but she is Canadian?

Born and raised in California, then attended college in Illinois. I think she's associated with Canada because she filmed there a lot as an adult, so felt very much like home to her.

Can't see her making more of an impact than Mike Bloomberg. Even bearing in mind the whole drama with the British royal family she'll probably still be associated with them
