JRCF29 8,230 Posted March 12, 2021 Share Posted March 12, 2021 A series of scandals, including allegations that his administration suppressed the number of deaths from COVID-19 in nursing homes and that he fondled, kissed or was otherwise sexually inappropriate with current and former aides, have backed Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) into a corner over the past month, and today the torrent of bad press got even worse. New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D) gave approval to lawmakers on the Judiciary committee to begin an investigation that could end in impeachment. A series of Republicans and Democrats in Albany have been pressuring the governor to resign, but he has said doing so would be "undemocratic." Trump has done way worse and wasn't touched with a ten feet poll by way more people than her wife, including these same politicians. Former First Lady of the United States. You f up, whether you're a Dem or Rep, you ought to pay the consequences. PeriodT. But history and even more so today with technology, we can literally see that there's a double standard to how politicians are treated depending on if they're Dems or Reps. PEZ 6,599 Posted March 12, 2021 Share Posted March 12, 2021 I'm from a state neighboring NY and we all been knew that Cuomo's an eternal jackass, so it really made me cringe to see some mainstream outlets fawn over him so hard in 2020. Plus, did they not learn from the president at the time that forming cults of personality around politicians is probably not the smartest bet? And then of course it blew up in their faces. Hope he gets held accountable. Regardless of how fairly or unfairly other Ds or Rs were treated in the past, there's no excuse not to properly investigate on our next go-around, this time with Cuomo. ⚡🐲 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
