I’m loving this remake so far.

I've just beat Gym 5. My thoughts so far:

• I'm sick of seeing Bidoof/Bibarel. Makes the region feel so small.
• The custom looks are adorable. I wish there were more.
• The art style is a non-factor now that I'm playing the game. The only time it stands out to me is when some overworld sprites seem tiny and I assume the NPs are children, then in the battle sprites they're fully grown adults  
• I wasn't strong enough to defeat Lucario in Gym 3 so I grind level up my squad. Now I'm absolutely OP because of the XP share.
• The HM mechanic being on the Poketch doesn't do it for me. In fact, the whole Poketch mechanic isnt really doing it for me. I loved it in the originals.

what is it that you don’t like about the HM mechanic? I honestly prefer that to having to have a Bibarel in my team that only knows HM moves 😅

Also, have y’all seen if there’s a new gimmick for EV training like the PC Jobs or super training ? Or will we have to do it like cavemen and fight Pokémon individually in order to EV train?

Even though I really like the remake, I realized that I don't really have it in me anymore to binge through a Pokemon game. Before I got it, I speculated that this would be my last one and now with how I am playing (literally just in Oreburgh and I got it digitally the moment it was available). Sinnoh is my absolute favorite, too. I would have thought that I would want to play it more. But just casually playing for a few minutes at a time is all I am interested in.

Very true. I adapted to it really fast. I think it's so cute - unless I am looking at my character as they are going down. Their face looks a bit awkward.

What aren't you enjoying?

I've felt very similar but I am speeding through this. I have just beat 6th gym

There's nothing I'm not enjoying specifically. I really like it. But like, my switch has been sitting untouched for most of the day.

I just press the A button I front of the obstacle and it’ll give me the option to use the HM, you can skip opening the poketch for this.

I got Breath of the Wild on release day and didn't get into it at all. I revisited years later and was addicted and finished it over a week. Maybe now just isnt the right time for you

Hey relatable! But I never picked it back up. I actually had to delete it in order to install it. 
I was driving and I think maybe mentally I am just trying to prolong it. Pokémon was THE core stanhood I was growing up. Until I was probably 22. And mentally I feel like I am not gonna play it anymore and this is the last game for me. Especially since I love the game so far.
