Will Gaga’s next pop album be decade defining?

With The Fame and The Fame Monster, Gaga’s music was the new sound. By the end of the decade, everyone was trying to replicate what she had released in 2008 and 2009. 

With Born This Way, Gaga brought back the 80s with both dance pop (Born This Way, TEOG, etc.) and rock influences (HML, Yoü and I, etc.)

With ARTPOP, Gaga adopted the EDM sound that infected radios at the beginning of the decade (Aura, GUY, etc.)

While Joanne was sonically more diverse, 60s and 70s influence appears through many of the songs (Joanne, Sinners Prayer, Come To Mama, Hey Girl, etc.)

With Chromatica, Gaga created a 90s house influenced pop album (Enigma, 1000 Doves, etc.)

 

Gaga’s discography seems to have covered pop music from the last 6 decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s), not to mention she has released CTC which covers many songs from before the 60s, so it brings the question, will her next pop album hold the sound of the 20s? Or will she re-explore one of the decades she has already done (disco for the 70s?, RnB for the 90s?, Alternative for the 00s?)

YES! I truly believe LG7 will be her biggest album yet! Especially since Chromatica was supposed to be huge not only do I think she’ll go even bigger this time but ‘Gaga’ is pretty much back (Gagavision, Ball in the tour name) and we have no idea what kind of music to expect so I think it will be amazing!

Personally I think 2000’s type of pop will return but that’s just my guess.

I just find it interesting how she’s essentially dedicated a decade defining genre to each album, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she pulls a TF/TFM and really stands out with a new sound. That or she jumps on a trend like ARTPOP

I think she is not interested in that and her priorities will be laying somewhere else this decade..

I really think she will. She has the talent and still has the influence for it.

I hope LG7 is something spectacular just because the number 7 is my lucky number. (maybe i'm low-key superstitious...)

however I still can't get ahead of myself because I'm still grieving over chromatica and the era that was stolen away from us due to the pandemic. I literally love that album so much.

I think there’s no way she isn’t two steps ahead of her career like that. She’s always seemed very calculated with her music.

My only wish is that she's working with great producers with great chemistry on next record.

I absolutely love Chromatica, it's my favorite album of her since BTW, but it kind of lacks of some identity in production in my opinion. I'm pretty sure it would have been even bigger and better with some other talented producers involved. I know she was about 'no ego producers allowed only' but, it doesn't make everything to me.
