Well, we'll see. I agree that it seems like they're facing consequences much quicker than ever before, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they lay low for a while and make comebacks sooner or later. 

Especially someone like Morgan Wallen who is young and very successful, people will give him another chance, no doubt. 

Despite all the outcry about "cancel culture", very few people actually stay cancelled.

I just hope it's people who actually deserve to get cancelled. One or two ill-timed comments or a tone deaf statement from years ago doth not a cancellation make. Cancellations should be reserved for outright criminals and abusers. Anything less, their bank balance should take a bit of a hit and they slowly fade into obscurity but that's all. If you start cancelling people for every tiny little thing, it'll lose its meaning and it's lost already.

It pisses me off because he was supposed to be on SNL last October, but he defied their covid safety regulations and posted pictures of himself kiss women at some party, so they swapped him out for Jack White at the last minute –– however, he was invited back to the show for a second chance earlier this year. The fact that he was willing to put people's lives and jobs at risk already proved he was a scumbag, and his racist actions just confirm that.

omg my Mom is a huge country music fan, and also a microbiologist so I heard alllll about that SNL scandal and Morgan's whole life story... she really went on a tear

I think it's much harder to cancel someone in the music industry than an actor like Armie. Actors don't really have that much power, it's all about film studios and directors wanting to hire them and they can easily be replaced.

Marilyn Manson will ultimately be fine because he's built his career on being this shocking toxic persona and the only reason Morgan is getting shelved by the label is because the radio ban makes him useless.
