Is it true her parents were in the industry? I read people side eyeing the "made an album in my bedroom" story bc it wasn't as rags to riches like that at all. 

 I find her music all a bit depressing and monotone. Besides Bad Guy I have never wanted to replay any of the other songs I heard. Do people think she is legit talented and in it for the long haul?

i mean billie is for sure talented and i dont want to discredit her but the genius behind is finneas (her brother), he is a talented producer, he can do the weirdest bops to the most beautiful and wholesime ballads

they both are an amazing team but i hope they manage to try new sounds because i couldn't find the appealing in the songs they released last year

I know her Mom was an actress - I recently rewatched Six Feet Under and her Mom was one the "deaths" you see at the beginning of each episode 

I think it's unfair to assume it was an easy climb for someone from a more privileged background - sure, it gives you a head start but money can't buy you actual talent and Billie has that in spades.

As for her being in it for the long haul, I used to think she was the next big thing but I can't help but feel like her career is already stalling. I think she fell into such a niche sound that it's going to be hard to break free from. She's already in danger of being the whisper pop girl for the rest of her life. Also her styling is already feeling incredibly dated.

I definitely hear a jazzy quality to her voice. I don't know if she's interested in that genre but it's an option for her. But I think you should only really do jazz if you really love it. That's why Gaga did so well with it. Even jazz purists can see she has a deep appreciation for it. 

Its so hard when they break out so young. It's almost impossible to live up to that initial success.

Three negative comments lol. You rushed to be the first person here just to literally list that shes an industry plant with boring songs and little talent with no longevity. Theres “discussion” and then theres why the hell are you even the first person in threads about her if you dont care? Let her fans enjoy their fave?

She's very interesting and intriguing, perfect thing she has going with her brother too. I believe she has great things ahead of her and that she won't be just a smash and go away any time soon. She's very talented, has things to say, her brother helps keep her sound interesting and her voice is just lovely and distinct. I am looking forward to it all.

I love Billie, can't wait to watch. 

 

On the topic of her music, I do think she'll need to change it up for her next album to stay relevant She's a beautiful singer but I can't help but feel like she's limiting her own techniques to achieve that muted sound. I'd love to hear more full chested singing from her. But, maybe she doesn't want that - I'd still listen to her music. I just don't think her current style is sustainable for another era.
