That's what I'm trying to point out. Not like the other artists nowadays that spoon feed everything on digital screen. Of course that not a bad thing (good for their fans ) but that's not, IMO, was what Gaga wanted for Chromatica. This^^ Gaga always pointed out that she wanted real connection to people. Just look at how she kinda interrupts Nikkie whenever she over-fangirls her Or her excitement when the people around her were not that intimidated by her, they just jam with her. The connection to ppl and going outside of digital platforms argument kind of breaks when the tour was only 6 dates meaning that 80% of her fan base would rely on social media and digital platforms to access the chromatica world
tyler k 5,330
I loveee this. And I agree! Gaga thinks EVERYTHING through so immensely and loves doing something "totally different than before" and this definitely seems to be what she was aiming for. I can only imagine what she'll do with remaining Chromatica content once the world starts to open back up as vaccines continued to be rolled-out globally. mmmy name ~isn't~ aliceee

Performance and music videos would still have been executed over social media so that could have still gone ahead. Until gaga explains herself we can’t be sure of anything maybe she didn't want to adapt because all of her plans were tarnished and it caused her immense distress and depression? imagine being an artist and not being able to see your vision fully through? it's devastating. also, she doesn't owe us any kind of explanation... it should be understood that NO ONE was okay during 2020 and no one needs to explain their lack of involvement in whatever they were working on/doing last year. if she wants to tell us what's up, cool. if not, cool. that's HER decision. mmmy name ~isn't~ aliceee

julz 7,130
Great thought compilation here @C1trus! I remembered AriGaga tried to perform ROM live before the VMAs, despite the pandemic already happening (but the Chainsmokers incident happened). Maybe thats why she decided not to appear in BP's show, as a virtual entity. I think i remember there was a plan for BP and Gaga to perform together at Coachella before (unsure, maybe just a rumor). If this is the case, i respect her for sticking to the album vision. We dont know what lies ahead for this album, really.
Alladin Sane 505
I like your whole argument, it's genius! I just think that she's really sad for not being able to execute her view for the era and decided to just put out the music, do almost nothing and move on to other projects until she can relaunch the era with a second album or an EP, like The Fame Monster. Ziggy 11,846
Tbh I think part of it, too, was that the promo budget was somewhat blown by the time the album dropped. Things were paid for for things to have happened later. Like money had been spent on things already for down the line that could now never happen. It’s not just reworking a promo, it’s logistically working with an ENTIRELY new budget for said promo. She wanted to go big and I have a hunch the budget wasn’t big enough to allow that. As for the MVs, didn't the 911 director say that they wanted the ending scene to actually happen at real street on a city? But they compromised using the studio because of restrictions. 2 hours ago, Delulu Rogers said: The connection to ppl and going outside of digital platforms argument kind of breaks when the tour was only 6 dates meaning that 80% of her fan base would rely on social media and digital platforms to access the chromatica world But many people can still get to manage to experience it, not just only via livestream. Let's consider Gaga's condition. 2 hours ago, IllusionLover said: Same, also if it was the case why didn't she make performances on tv shows, like people used to do in the past... No live audience. Isn't she supposed to appear at iheart awards? But then lockdown happened. Also, Gaga even conceptualized her performance to be a dream rather than actual live performance ("Dreaming of Reality"). She didn't even post het performance outfits on her social media accounts. ι'м ρυℓℓιηg үσυя sтяιηgs

Cherry Blues 349
That's a very cool analysis. So she stood for what she said. Btw: i liked Stupid Love video from beginning, i think it's a very fresh and sweet video - very entertaining and positive, but not overdramatic. It has this nerdy-cultish character and will be a favourite for it's flashy simpelnes on surface but it's deep spiritual and essential meaning at the core. It reminds me of something really cool....
