The word "oriental" is used for objects. You're totally cool to say "oriental art" or "oriental rug" for example. I just checked and it says that even in the dictionary, though. I've had asians from the orient tell me that they don't mind the term oriental, because they're from the orient. Kind of like Mediterranean. Same concept? Both orient and mediterranean are regions that include several countries. I wasn't using the term orient to describe anybody, so I'll keep not doing that. When it was released the Beige, chola descent, Lebanase and Orient made, made me go It would not get me a good grade in high school English class for sure.
