Where i lived it was pretty flat but the biggest city near me "Coimbra" some some huge ass slopes and ppl do indeed walk unbothered. 

 

Last time i visited i spent a whole day touring that city and dam did i ever get a workout

U def get a good workout there I really miss it I was in Cascais, Lisbon, amazing town

Cascais from what i know is a higher end suburb. A lot of upper middle class or outright rich people there

 

I dont know the Lisbon area very well in general tho. It is 3 hours away from where i lived so i only been there a few times to a few areas. My main memory there is the big aquarium

 

Coimbra and other cities around there like Aveiro and Agueda is what i know best. To a lesser extend i somewhat know Porto. But Lisbon i know less well than many tourists

Check out this performance in Coimbra. Traditionally done annually at the University, the oldest and i think biggest in the Country. This style of Fado sang by males is also unique to that part of the Country and city

 

Also the song in this video is specifically about the city and how its more awesome and awe strucking when u have to leave which is so relevant and appropriate for graduating students

Yeah the calçada portuguesa is one of the most typical things in our streets, but it can get very slippery and holey over time. Try the Faro downtown bar strip and you'll probably die in 3 steps, even though it's flat terrain.

 

On topic, yes, it's bad. People just don't care. Here we always do things to seem like we're being good in front of the authorities, when in fact we just do whatever we want when they're not watching. And since we are a very pacific country, there aren't many strict authorities to begin with.

I remember since I was a little child, my grandparents would only tell me to put the seat belt on when we could get caught by the police, never because of safety.

And then we complain that it's the government's fault. The biggest problem of the government is actually doing things in a way that gets the least amount of people mad, trying to please everyone. It will just end with a bigger economic crisis than needed because they don't do enough or do too much.

The schedule restrictions have been like this from the start and it's super dumb. It just makes people cluster in places without chance for social distancing. And all the authorities are checking is if the shops are closing one minute later than they're supposed to.

Just watch these videos of the Lisbon metro just a couple days ago, during a "FULL LOCKDOWN":

And unfortunately it's been like this since last April. 

In the summer people were going to the beach to complain that other people were going to the beach, not leaving much space for their towels.

Now they go walk their invisible dogs, or have to go to their "essential" work, and complain that other people are doing the same.

And what irks me the most globally is that smoking wasn't prohibited anywhere (besides inside workplace buildings etc like usual)...WTF! By smoking, people have an excuse to stop working, they blow streams of covid-ridden smoke to other people passing by, and no one bats an eye. And to top it off, they go to the vaccine priority lists because they're a "risk group". Poor smokers!

If makes it any better, everything you just said can be applied to Brazil as well. It's the same thing here, the crowded trains, the crowded beaches, people just don't care. It's really sad and tiring tbh and just to make it worse, our government is totally trash and irresponsible towards this whole situation.

Thats what i been saying. The virus doesnt spread any differently at different hours the problem is ppl getting close

 

Restrict hours and its just the same number of ppl doing their shopping in a shorter amount of hours which means more crowded. What is the point of that?????

 

Weve had simmilar restrictions here in Canada in some Provinces and it makes no sense. Its like i said, one of those things they do just to make it look like they are doing something
