Red is a classic symbol, it is included in the flag. Maybe she also wants to symbolize the unity and reconciliation.

Often when you get to the presidential debates youll notice the republican wearing a blue tie and a democrat wearing a red tie. (The possible implication being trying to sway people away from the middle) Youre right that theres a subconscious color theory going on but if the theme is “unity” its supposed to be about bringing everyone together. In that case it makes sense that red is included. Also it just looks gorgeous on her usually. She had good luck with the red suit last time maybe shes superstitious lol
