TaylorSwift 162,449
A US oncologist has wiped out nearly $650,000 worth of debts for 200 cancer patients after realising that many of them were struggling to pay. Dr Omar Atiq closed his cancer treatment centre in Arkansas last year after nearly 30 years in business. He worked with a debt collection firm to gather outstanding payments, but then realised many families had been hit hard financially by the pandemic. Over Christmas, he wrote to patients telling them any debts would be erased. source https://store.taylorswift.com
Chromatican 4,046
This is why we need Medicare For All! People who oppose it are modern day anti-abolitionists and anti-suffrage.
Thomas P 18,479
that’s really kind of him! sometimes it’s hard for me to remember how expensive health care is in the US because i’m so used to not thinking about it in canada. it’s unfortunate that treatment in a hospital is something that can financially ruin someone for the rest of their life. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill. Rj Barker 3,331
This is great news for those families but at the same time it's atrocious that this is even news as it shouldn't even be a thing. American healthcare really is the pits and needs to catch up with everyone else. Mess

Maybe that would be the case for you, but not for this oncologist clearly haha
