It's what they deserve! Sweet melody is an incredible song, I'd say it's their best since Touch :staymad:

The way they could actually get a number one for their last single as a four-piece :bradley:

Their first number one in 2011 and their 5th in 2021 :bradley: A girl group nearly a decade into their career doing THAT!

Honestly it would be the perfect way to end their era as a 4 piece girl band. They're honestly incredible. The fact they came out of X factor and have maintained such high relevance in the UK for all this time is just remarkable. They truly deserve international success as they are all so individually talented too!!!

the fact that fifth harmony was bigger in north america is so criminally stupid!

I was the only person i knew who was constantly streaming little mix back in the day (i’m canadian), and it was so frustrating because so many people i knew thought they were the “cheap” version of fifth harmony.

they’re literally some of the most individually talented pop artists/performers working rn, let alone as a whole group. their music is fantastic, they put on a show like the best of em, and they’re all so sweet and kind.

OT: sweet melody is one of the best pop songs of the year so congrats!

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Wow you guys didn't have to spill so much tea! :firega: I couldn't agree more with what you've both said!

Loving the positivity!:applause::wub:

They definitely deserve more success internationally, they are still so underrated! :bradley:

Never knew there were other versions of it bar one remix, I can't find any mention of them on their Wikipedia. Looks like they're in for a shot. I never thought they could beat a new Ed Sheeran song after this song's been out for weeks, so it'll be some coup if they do it. Here's hoping it inspires more singles in the future. I'm hoping for Rendezvous next.

If they get it, will this be a new record for a girl band #1 this far into their career? Girls Aloud got their final #1 with their 5th album 5 years in, Sugababes got their last #1 on their 5th album 7 years in, so LM will have got it with their 6th album nearly 9 years in. Not bad for a girl band thrown together on X Factor. We all know previous and later tries at this failed, so this is no small feat!

It's so ironic that the entire reason 5H even existed was because of LM. And those girls were never friends, just work colleagues, which explains why one of them jumped ship so early and the other ones couldn't wait to disband afterwards. It's rare for a manufactured group like LM to have such genuine friendships built from it as most of these arrangements result in fighting, taking sides and one or more being frozen out, particularly if they set out to be soloists initially. To see the girls stick it out for this long and be as close as ever is so heart-warming.

Sorry if this wasn't what you meant, but I think the Spice Girls had 9 number 1's with 3 albums in just 4 years.

In my messy era.

What I meant was that it's more of an achievement to have achieved #1's over a extended period of time. Of course it's easy to get a whole bunch of them in the first few years when you're young and getting heavy promotion. But when you're getting older and new bands are coming up and you're nearing the time that most bands call it quits, to get #1's now is much more difficult, so to do it is amazing. For their last #1 to have been in 2016 and now to get one all this time later when you'd think interest in them would've dwindled is really something. I thought Gaga's days of UK #1's were behind her post-Telephone and it took a whopping 8 years until she did it again and then another came along 2 years later. That's far more impressive than if she'd achieved all her #1's back-to-back. It shows you've got longevity and that your fans are loyal.

Ahhh I get you now.

Yeah it's definitely impressive! Like you said, many GG die out after a few years because they cannot recreate the 'spark' of their debut - same with solo artists.

In my messy era.

Touch is a bop and a half. All of their singles from Glory Days are pop perfections imo.

I think this list is outdated though, here's one more recent

Woman Like Me will probably become their 7th million seller at some point

the scars on my mind are on replay.
