Batwings 12,885
I don't understand all the hate that Farrah has gotten in the past. I've seen her live, and not only is she a great performer, but she is one of the sweetest, kindest people on earth. And she is totally right in this situation. pussycat 3,514
I don't really know how things work in the US regarding financial support- but what if she's really struggling as she's saying? I can't believe she has no other ways of making money but maybe as of right now she has no choice but to do gigs? Does not mean I support her choices tho just trying to understand her and I don't want to assume she is like rich bc she won

Does not mean I support her choices tho just trying to understand her and I don't want to assume she is like rich bc she won She has won her seasons of the franchise 2 years ago, with total cash winnings of $120,000. She recently purchased a HOUSE in Florida. She has over 1 million followers on Instagram. People with 5k followers get lucrative sponsorship deals nowadays, you literally can pick and choose which teeth lightening kit with UV rays is gonna pay you. There are plenty of opportunities to make money with drag in the pandemic that does not endanger the lives of people (see: Alaska, Bob The Drag Queen, Katya, Trixie Mattel, Naomi Smalls, Peppermint, Asia O'Hara, Aquaria, Jaymes Mansfield, the list goes ON). If anybody could make a point about needing bar gigs to stay afloat, it would be Farrah Moan, who did not get many opportunities after her two unsuccessful runs on Drag Race ended, getting evicted earlier last year because of Covid-19 and with a dwindling following on social media. But instead, she sees the long picture: Her having a temporary cash relief will do nothing but contribute to the endurance of the pandemic. And it would continue a cycle of her having to do gigs over and over again in unsafe settings, that could endanger the healths of 1000's of people and her own on top of it. And this is America we're talking about: Imagine going out to perform, catching Covid (very likely with the way nobody wears their masks at indoor events like the one Trinity performed at) and then not having health insurance. Where's the money come from then? What is she gonna pay first, the mortgage on her house or the 200k hospital bill?

They have no choice but to be open, drag queens perform at their own free will. Not the same thing 😩
JesseBabe 837
Where was this enthusiasm for staying in during a pandemic in the other thread about gays calling out hot muscle gays ? Anyway, both made some points. If I remember correctly, Trinity once said that drag queens and others entertainers aren't eligible for unemployment benefits, so if they don't find work there's no income. Idk her financial situation, but I find it a little hard to believe that Trinity, a winner of AS4, with over 1m followers can't make ends meat with online gigs, merch, her Podcast she just stopped doing, streaming, etc. Sis, you know the state the US is in, you are part of the problem. GagaSine 7,464
Why doesn’t Trinity just sell her house? I’ve been broke my entire life and i’ve been doing fine during the pandemic on minimum wage. Funny how that works. I haven‘t been able to see my family this entire time because I interact with so many customers every day it would be so risky.

Businesses are hurting, they will have to close, it'll be a bad economy for everyone The economy will be hurting regardless of what people do. Either by people staying home or by people dying off in masses and establishments getting shut down for being Covid hotspots. The first option is not only morally superior, but also logically. People want to support good businesses, if you try to make money against all health guidelines and eventually get shut down, people will remember. And they won't come back when Corona is over, they'll leave you out to rot. They'll take their money elsewhere and are more willing to support (or even donate) to businesses that acted morally responsible.
