Whew the Taylor haters are really jumpinu at this morsel of her ‘flop’ arent they.

I’m not a fan of Taylor but she knows how to game the game. She remains a winner.

She deploys a slew of gimmicks to fool you into thinking that she's not a legacy act. Discounting her discounts was definitely a new low.

TS wouldn't be able to score a major hit if her life depended on it. GP automatically drops her after the first week, and her fan base is not big enough to sustain huge streams.

Her last major hit was the Zayn collaboration in early 2017. Her last solo hit was Bad Blood. She will never have a major hit again.

Now I can see why everybody was so worried about Sour Candy possibly being released as a single this month :bear:

You're a drama queen. If I'm defending Taylor Swift, of course I'm a fan of her. You don't have to explain that. However, I'm not defending anyone "vehemently". Just pointing out that your argument was absolutely pointless.

At least I don't go into other threads about various artists and tear them down like you're doing. I'd rather spend my time celebrating artists I do like rather than being an anonymous keyboard warrior tearing down successful artists.

1. You can 'defend' someone even if you are a non-fan.

2. You know that nobody stop you from having opinions or criticism on artists except you, right? If you want to, you can 100% abstain from having them but this doesn't mean everybody else should do the sane lmao. 'Tearing down succesul artists' = pointing out how Taylor features didn't help her at all which made you get defensive when you had no problem with Gaga being dragged into the argument. Your problem was seeing Taylor mentioned into a negative light, not defending artists in general.

I guess she (or her team, whatever) wanted that second #1 album + #1 single and thats why they released all of those versions. Guess we'll have to wait if she can pick up from this with radio 'cause I cant see it going from #40 to Top 5 again that easy.

Guys, you are giving too much attention to charts. Remember that Bad Romance was never a number one song and it is still the most memorable Gaga song. A real hit is not about charts positions, it's about how it will be remembered in the future.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

Excellent point. I believe thriller by Michael Jackson (obviously) one of the biggest songs of all time peaked at something like number 4 I believe.

I think that evermore is more like an album-oriented project and it's really successful in that way. So nothing bad that the single dropped. Of course, Taylor did a lot of stuff to get that #1, but I didn't think that the song catches the attention of the GP, especially during the Mariah time of the year. btw, I loved the song and all the versions.

Madonna has a bunch of number ones no one remember and lots of timeless classics that never were number one.

Exactly! Talking about the one in my pic, Bowie is one of the artists that reshaped the music scene and didn't have a lot of #1 singles and this stuff.

Thankfully she already has many smash hits and classic albums under her belt (which have amazing recurrent stats, by the way) so there's nothing bad about becoming a legacy act who can still book more #1 weeks on the BB200 than most acts at their career peak do
