It was, and she didn't intend the song to be 'bad' so didn't know it ended up in the movie as a point to show Ally "sold out" till she watched the movie

I love The Cure so much, such a cute song, love her voice. I don't care if it was just a jam session or ASIB outtake, just glad to have it officially released.

I really wish she'd release more in this way. Just random stuff that maybe isn't good enough for an album, but is fun or interesting enough just to be released for fun.

I wouldn’t even say „not good enough for an album“ but I‘d say a song that doesn’t necessarily contribute to the vision of a whole record and its theme. because The Cure is amazing, it just doesn’t belong on any of her albums.

On another note: I feel like ally‘s pop songs, The Cure and We Could Be Lovers were probably recorded with the „OG LG5“ in mind, before Mark Ronson came into the picture and the project turned into Joanne. Makes total sense with the aesthetic she had before joanne, and they sound very cohesive together. John Wayne and Dancing In Circles actually also work well with them so they could have been created before the direction completely changed. So all those mentioned songs will probably be the closest to LG5 we‘ll ever get.

Thanks for posting this, reminded me I haven’t listened to the cure for ages and it’s still a bop!

The problem here is the rights they have to pay to producers, writers etc. I guess that's why they "leak" songs istead of releasing for free or cheap.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

Because it was intended to be an Ally song.

They said they wrote the song after the superbowl because Gaga wanted something chill or something along those lines. Nothing’s confirmed tho

DJWS said the opposite. And Heal Me and WDYDT weren't originally Ally songs either

Heres the interview where DJWS confirmed it wasnt for ASIB (credit goes to @ChicaSkas for the interview!) https://gagadaily.com/djws/

I think with the leaked legal documents, it was more of a test on Gaga's end like someone said in the page before to see how she would do in the streaming world
