NO ONE can deny that Ariana being featured played a big part in its debut, I doubt that ROM would’ve debuted at #1 without her seeing as Gaga’s anticipated comeback single debuted at #5, but I do believe it still would’ve performed very well, it’s well received and it’s simply a very good pop track in all aspects

Never said she didn't help. But the credit isn't only hers. Remembering Boyfriend #8 (right after her peak era) Don't Call Me Angel #13 with two other artists.

the scars on my mind are on replay.

she released remix after remix mv after mv

rent a rapper tactic + radio payola ( dead last on callouts ) + added to tth while being out of top100 before

nobody has a right to come here to defend this desperate label push let alone saying it was bigger than gaga songs

its so :fail:

:rip:

This article is about the album. I don’t think that remixes would actually contribute to the album sales if they’re not actually on the album, but I may be wrong. And this article isn’t even about sales anyway, let alone how the singles are selling (obviously DSN has outsold either Chromatica single)

Okay but Levitating barely has any radio support and i

its literally Top3 on pop radio while being DEAD LAST on callouts which means nobody wants to hear that song.

so do you agree with article saying gaga was looking for dont start now for her whole career? :rip:

gaga has at least 10 songs that are much better than dont start now.

stupid love was leaked a month before and it was already overplayed by fans.

it would debut in Top3 if it didnt leaked

True but despite this, it wouldn’t have changed the success of ROM

oh absolutely, a big appeal for the song was the fact that Gaga and Ariana collabed, it’s a big deal and would rightfully attract attention :firega:

Listen, at the end of the day, this article says

2020 is the year she became a pop behemoth. She... became one of pop’s most exciting major players: she out Gaga’d Gaga and out Kylie’d Kylie”

”Lipa is making hay while the sun shines. And why not, for a pop star who’s been building to megastar status breaking through when arenas are closed and clubs left dark?”

And I don’t disagree, she made herself known, she had impact, she performed, created events, did remixes, multiple videos, she provided a lot of content. But that doesn’t mean that she’s the next Lady Gaga or the next Kylie Minogue. She simply just made herself more known in the public eye this era that the other two ladies, which is understandable seeing as she is a newer act and NEEDS to promote her work. It’s not discrediting either Gaga or Kylie, it’s just an observation.

Thats all I wanna say, this is all very tiring :messga:

How is it overrated when it’s not even THAT popular or THAT successful. Just because people who heard it like it doesn’t mean something is overrated. Also your review is highly biased and not objective at all which is kinda embarrassing if you’re planning to work in journalism.

Thanks for the feedback, which parts did you not like? Your comment is not really specific.

I think it’s overrated because critics graded it highly and it appears on a lot of year-end lists.
