Wildlife photographer of the year 2020: people's choice awards revealed

Now in its 56th year, the wildlife photographer of the year showcases the world’s best nature photography. The competition is run by the Natural History Museum in London and the exhibition there runs until 4 July 2021. This year’s competition attracted more than 50,000 entries from professionals and amateurs across the world.

Not everyone can do this job, wildlife photographers are hardcore. 

But I will never understand some pics winning this competition in the past that were a pure set of coincidences rather than hard work.

Uh, you do realize you have to put HOURS into waiting in the field for that 'coincidence' to happen, know how to use a camera at a professional level, and also have an understanding of how the animals will be moving and behaving, right?

Actually, my uncle was a Nat Geo wildlife photographer for many years so I'm pretty sure I'm familiar.

I'm talking about actual coincidences that did not require this, read again.
