It's just business and nothing more. First of all, she and her parents are the only ones responsible for this signing a contract years ago. If it wasn't Scooter, it could've been someone else. The end of the story.

As I said, it's just business. Everything is always about money. C'mon, he doesn't do something awful. He doesn't kill/rape/bully anyone. There are many worse things people should care about instead of TS's music rights

Except it isn't just business, this has been a personal fight since the beginning. Starting with Scott not offering the sale of the masters to Taylor, to Scott and Scooter trying to block Taylor from performing her own music and not letting it appear in Miss Americana, to Scooter wanting Taylor to sign an NDA so she stops talking about him. Not to mention all the times they tried to gaslight her in the media as a liar with receipts and a narrative that came back to bite them in the ass

You’re right, Taylor and her parents were ultimately the ones that signed the contract; but she was a young and impressionable woman who was just trying to make a career for herself, at only 14 mind you. She probably was just happy somebody was giving her the time of day after being rejected so many times. You have to understand it from her point of view also. 
 

It may be “just business” in the end, however she also wasn’t given an offer to buy her music. The sale happened without her knowledge and that “someone else” you’re referring to quite literally could have been her if she was given the option.
