Sharkboy & Lavagirl return (as parents) in new We Can Be Heroes movie

Netflix, which is releasing the family-friendly superhero film on the streaming platform New Year's Day, dropped the first look at the return of these characters, who headlined 2005's The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D. 

Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dooleyplayed Sharboy and Lavagirl, respectively, as child actors in that earlier movie. Dooley, now 27, plays an adult Lavagirl in We Can Be Heroes, while JJ Dashnaw (who played Brat's dad in Rodriguez's Spy Kids) plays Sharkboy. The are now parents at this point in time and their daughter, Guppy, as seen in the photos by way of Bird Box's Vivien Lyra Blair, is half shark.

We Can Be Heroes follows a team of superheroes called The Heroics who need to be rescued by their super-powered kids after getting kidnapped.

The new guy is hot, but not Taylor who DEFINITELY needs a comeback, but I guess he declined and missed a paycheck...

Wait. So the actor portraying Sharkboy is 50+ years old and Lavagirl is 27? I guess if he keeps the costume on throughout the whole movie, I wont be able to see the huge age gap, cuz I recall, that even though it's a movie, there movie relationship looked cute.

 

Or am I confusing the actor with another actor with the same name?
