Don't overreact guys, it's just a way of talking, he didn't say he genuinely thought that. Gaga said the same thing about many artists lol

Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Gaga, Adele, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, and Jessie J are all better singers

Beyonce probably is the best singer from a technical standpoint of the current crop of pop stars. Beyonce isn't my personal favourite artist in the world, but there's just no denying that she is spectacularly good at what she does and I'm always suspicious of people who stumble over themselves to try to discredit her as 'overrated'. She's rated just right.

It's an opinion, it's a matter of taste. I personally (and no one asked and no one cares :ladyhaha:) I think Beyoncé sings well  but I wouldn't call her the greatest singer I've ever heard. Something that lacks for me with Bey is the lack of emotion, I personally and it's not factual, it's a matter of personal taste and feeling, but I feel nothing at all when she sings. People talk about how much of a master of marketing she is, where everything is controlled to the perfection, I think her voice is the same, very controlled. And when everything is controlled it's not raw, and when it's not raw I feel nothing

Beyonce is a great singer and a phenomenal performer as well. Great overall package

To say the greatest ever? That to me is further evidence she's overrated and ppl elevate her too much on an unrealistic pedestal

I think Bey knows how to put on a show, and if you compare her to today's new artists, of course she's the best because no artists today know or care about putting on an entertaining show, it's bland and uninspired. But if you compare Beyoncé to other artists of the past, I'd personally say that Bey's shows have great aesthetic, are entertaining and she's a true performer but I'm never wowed by it. I think mainly because her songs are good but not great, and having 100 back up dancers, trumpets, fireworks, and special effects is one thing I really enjoy from her but I cannot ever say she's as talented as Prince, or MJ whom, as I hope everyone can agree to, talent alone with no fluff and drama can entertain you for hours

I think Beyoncé is one of the few singers today that has an amazing tone as well outstanding technical singing abilities. Ultimately it does set her apart from a lot of other singers because it’s rarity to have both. Whitey and Mariah are two examples of artists like that. Take Adele and Gaga for instance, both equally successful acts but Adele’s strength is her tone and Gaga’s strength is her ability (IMO).

Not the bore worms!

Y’all lack reading comprehension and it shows. “Like the greatest singer of all time”. He’s not saying she is but giving her a compliment. And even if he said she was, that’s his opinion.

anyway.

Taken out of context.

He said 'She's like, the greatest singer ever' which is a compliment to her status in the music industry and her vocal abilities. Kinda like how we say 'it was like, the best thing I've ever had'. We don't necessarily mean it was ranked #1 after a careful consideration of all the experiences we've had in our entire lives, but only to emphasise its quality.

This is the case for Timberlake's expression, which is qualified by the word 'like'.

Fair point. He probably meant it as a figure of speech not literally the best necessarily
