Free speech keeps the government from retaliating or restricting your speech, you can't have open debate on someone's private property, you do it in the public square. Social media is not the public square.

What would even be the point of creating and investing in a platform if you can't control what's being posted there :rip: that's like the entire joke

As of now it's not. That doesn't mean it won't change or that there isn't an argument to be had that it should be considered as such.

There isn't one. I think companies should be held liable if they don't take down misinformation, but the idea that the government can force a company to KEEP certain things is ridiculous.

There's still an estimated 9 million uncounted ballots in blue states like California and New York  , mostly mail-in ballots  70%+ of those votes will go to Biden

Unless the government makes and funds its own social media platform, it's not.

Yeah, this is my feeling on that. He can spew his crap but Twitter, as a private platform, can decide they don't want to be a medium for it.

Exactly. He can spew his nonsense on Gab all day. No one will read it, but his 1st amendment rights aren’t being violated.

Using the threat of guns and cages to force a private platform to post content against their wishes is not something I want to see our government doing.

I'm literally playing devil's advocate here because eventhough I agree misinformation should be taken down and such, I can at the same time consider how this practice could be a slippery slope to things more nefarious where they could just take down stuff they're biased against.

Y'all should be able to do the same thing and think about how that could backfire in the opposite direction. But okay you guys do you and make those of us warning about that out to be nonsensical or something. :rip:

It's not a slippery slope. The real slippery slope is the argument you're making
