We do not have a Senate Majority, unless we can win at least one of the Georgia run-off elections + get some moderate Republicans like Susan Collins and Mitt Romney to vote with Democrats. The best we can do is put someone in the 'Acting' position if they can't get a Senate confirmation. And there is a MASSIVE difference between Biden and Trump that I am not going to engage in. 1 minute ago, Curunir said: Of course. I didn't say that about Biden in a negative way actually. His ability to negotiate with the other side and reach out an olive branch might prove crucial in cooling the tensions in the country. But if he were a candidate in Europe, let's say, he'd never be labeled a democrat

In order for the big tech companies to stay a "platform" there must be neutral pubic forums. When they choose what content can be on their site they can be considered a publisher. Because congress does not legislate through gridlock of party politics, they are not currently bound by any regulations to prevent them from doing it legally. That said, technically Twitter is in a transition to a publisher because of the editorial nature of their content. As long as they are a neutral platform they should be immune from litigation but they cannot claim to be a public forum while also censoring the content on the forums without assuming liability. https://www.city-journal.org/html/platform-or-publisher-15888.html That's the point of User Agreements and the such. You sign contracts when you choose to use these platforms, contracts that stipulate these companies have the power to decide whether your content is apt for it. And whether a publisher or not, in case you want to have private companies, you need to at least give them some benefits over their own products and decisiones. Otherwise just go public. Which, again, I don't disagree with. Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Which, again, I don't disagree with. I am fairly certain that I am arguing about what should be and you're arguing about what is. I don't disagree with the fact that there are the user agreements and by signing it you're agreeing to conditions. But what I am saying is that because there are no regulations these companies are getting to have it both ways. Either they should be a public forum with exemption for liability with few limitations with regard to content or they should be a publisher that does get to determine the content but do assume that liability. And again, it's all because congress doesn't legislate that we are in this situation in the first place.

Biden is an established politician. It's not the fact I like it or not, Trump was responsible for the deaths and lower living standards of millions of Americans. We can discuss whether other Dem politicans are responsible for the same with people abroad, but that'd require a discussion on the very nature of imperialism and USA's role as a world power, something that is futile because we can't change all of it overnight. Biden is better than Trump. A progressive is better than Biden. But this is where we are now, with Biden. Now let's work to create more leftist politicians, not electing fascists because "durr, they have less blood on their hands". As if Trump wouldn't have more "blood" (whatever that means) after 30 years in office. Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
