There is literally no way that happens . You're either FOR private property or AGAINST it. You can't just exist in some neutral place in between lol that's not how it works.

Actually, the more that Twitter moves forward with the censorship of material on its website, it can no longer be considered a social media platform. At that point with the editorial control by the company, it actually becomes a publisher at that point. And when that classification changes you can make an argument that Twitter wouldn't be able to do the censorship that they are currently doing.

Just because it's not how it works today doesn't make it right and that's the problem with a lot of this discourse right now. It's okay to be a free thinker and have opinions that are contrary to authority.

You realize that Biden is basically a Republican Lite running as a Democrat, right?

He's already eyeing GOP candidates for potential Cabinet positions. The GOP know this very well, and most likely will collaborate with him. We are not dealing with "the Trump Party", we're in all likelihood dealing with a party that's actually distancing itself from Trump, especially with his actions these past few days.

Anything is better than Trump.

The longer mainstream media waits to call it, the more QAnon and MAGA crazies have time to threaten vote counters.

As if he won’t just send his crazies to do something else. :awkney:

I agree about the last part, but Twitter is not a public utility. What's so hard to understand about that. You can nantionalize Twitter and I'm all for it, but you can't make a private company bow down to the standards of the Government just because a lot of people use it :poot:

That's your opinion. And sorry, but virtual spaces are not the same thing as actual property meaning the same private property standards and rules do not necessarily apply.

The only reason that may be the case now is with the courts viewing it that way, but that can change especially with how much the Internet and tech is changing everything. The courts could start to view it differently as I've already described, and legislation could be passed making it so.

So how about not passing off your opinion and interpretation as fact when it isn't.

I'm pretty sure that if you look at Biden's record you will find that there is more blood on Biden's hand than Trump. Just because Joe is a democrat doesn't make him immune to criticism.

I personally think that depending on the issue you are referring to depends on whether Joe or Trump is better. There are really damning things that Joe has been responsible for and while Trump may have made a lot of things worse, he wouldn't have been in a position to make some things worse if Joe hadn't have opened the door for his abuse through his career as a senator and time as Vice President.

He's eyeing moderate candidates for Cabinet positions because these Cabinet positions have to approved by the Senate... which Mich McConnell controls. We do not have a Senate Majority, unless we can win at least one of the Georgia run-off elections + get some moderate Republicans like Susan Collins and Mitt Romney to vote with Democrats. The best we can do is put someone in the 'Acting' position if they can't get a Senate confirmation. And there is a MASSIVE difference between Biden and Trump that I am not going to engage in.

That's not my opinion that's how the concept of private property works :bear: and that concept is central to the concept of capitalism. What's the point (according to capitalist theory) of creating a succesful company and having control over its data (in the case of ineternet companies I mean, meaning more money) if the Government can make you not being able to decide the rules of your own product? Just because a website is not physical property, it doesn't mean that it isn't property. And now that I mention that, it is kind of a physical property since Twitter, for example, is the one who owns their servers, and you sign a contract when signing up on Twitter that says that you'll abide to their rules. Once you accept that, and millions of people already did, there's no possible legal way of stopping it. Literally none. Not now, nor ever. It's a contract, the basis of legal agreements.

Of course. I didn't say that about Biden in a negative way actually. His ability to negotiate with the other side and reach out an olive branch might prove crucial in cooling the tensions in the country.

But if he were a candidate in Europe, let's say, he'd never be labeled a democrat :laughga:

Again, the rules that apply to social media platforms today differ from the rules of a publisher. In order for the big tech companies to stay a "platform" there must be neutral pubic forums. When they choose what content can be on their site they can be considered a publisher. Because congress does not legislate through gridlock of party politics, they are not currently bound by any regulations to prevent them from doing it legally. That said, technically Twitter is in a transition to a publisher because of the editorial nature of their content. As long as they are a neutral platform they should be immune from litigation but they cannot claim to be a public forum while also censoring the content on the forums without assuming liability.
