Yep. Us Justice Dems and Democratic Socialists need to fight tooth and nail if the Democratic Party continues this failing strategy, and possibly start a movement about refusing to vote for the Democratic nominee if they are too centrist.

She can run in 2024, she doesn't need to need to be 35 to get the nomination, only to win the presidency which she will be come that October.

I agree, the $15 min wage was a good one and Biden did run on it....legalizing pot is also insanely popular. I more worried that we'll put forth progressives in swing states/prez race who believe things I agree with (socialism, defund the police) and are vocal on them...when we need progressives who believe in defunding the police but are more careful about how they word it & don't go "but socialism is good." Look at Karen Bass, who is VERY progressive & yet is super careful about not saying defund the police. Sometimes we gotta lie or dodge around the truth to win over those persuadable voters who are for the $15 min wage but hate socialism.

Yeah, Bernie probably could have juiced Latino vote but on the downside I don't believe he could have done what Biden did with the Black turnout (in some parts of MI Biden had something like 10-20% higher Black turnout than Clinton, which is a lot). We need a candidate who can do both...and we need candidates who recognize Latinos aren't a monolith (which is why I think Gallego is a good choice).

MJ Haggar lost to John Cornyn in TX by 10 points despite the record high turnout AND being a war veteran and mother. She literally had ads that made her look tough on bikes and in the military.

Sis Black voters are the backbone of the party. AOC lost the Black vote to Crowley even if she won her election. Bernie lost Black voters in vast margins. Black voters aren't a monolith but generally aren't nearly as progressive as the "Squad". So until that changes, I don't think AOC is going to win the primary if she runs for prez anytime soon.

Gallego ain't McGrath, either. He advocates for many progressive policies....McGrath was a Republican pretending to be a Dem imo.

That's the thing. Rose twitter thinks "military = bad" when most of this countries admires the military.

Honestly the socialism fearmongering narrative is just that, a narrative that was crafted by Republicans to fearmonger around any candidate to the left of John Mccain. Stop playing into the right wing nonsense. And Joe Biden needed to push his progressive policy positions HARDER, most of his supporters couldn't name his policies and/or just supported him because they wanted Trump out, and this strategy will fail in the future.

2016 was the first year I was able to vote in the general election, so it's definitely the one that I paid most attention to. The only thing I remember about the 2012 election was the Epic Rap Battles of History video of Obama vs Romney, and Cher and Kathy Griffin doing a PSA on it because Cher didn't want "Mittens" to be the next president.
