They're private companies Susan :poot: they are allowed to do this stuff

Exactly. Its like a multistory building. You rent to stay there but ultimately, you don't own that building. Twitter is owned by someone and we go onto their space to share what we want to share. Its important that they clamp down on misinformation, and they've done so.

Agree. I don’t like my food chewed for me. The Hunter Biden story that Rudy ran to the NY Post with the was horse sh!t. But Twitter locking the NYP out there account for a week was reprehensible. They shouldn’t get to be the arbiters here, regardless of being a public company.

More over they are also hypocrites - the let people post and repost a video of a man allegedly crumpling a ballot (he didn’t) and now that man is in hiding.

If I don’t want Trump controlling speech, I certainly don’t want Zuck and Jack doing it either.

Agreed.

At least some in here can have some reason and think about this neutrally.

Yes they are allowed, but it’s a problem.

No, it's not. They're private :poot: that's the definition of private :poot:

Stop it. We can debate this without being snarky. I know they are private and allowed, but to pretend that Twitter is the same as “no shoes, no shirt, no service” is dishonest.

As the world evolves they ARE perceived as the public square, and we shouldn’t pretend they aren’t by beating the drum of definitions.

It's like saying you would literally allow people to come to your private house and destroy it. They're PRIVATE CONPANIES!

But they get to DECIDE what is misinformation and that is the problem. It won’t always shake out on YOUR side. I only like to gamble in Vegas.

Being snarky is all I can do atm because I and other members already wrote paragraphs and paragraphs explaining why you're wrong. And WHY is it not the same as "no shoes, no shirt, no service". It literally is the same :rip: Also, perceived as something doesn't mean they really are. If you don't like Twitter rules, go somewhere else. They don't have the obligation to accept everything because they are their own platform. Twitter isn't yours, it's theirs. It's private. That's the definition of private.
