Biden said he wont do that. lol.

Incorrect. Biden said that he would appoint a bi-partisan commission to examine not only the Supreme Court, but also the Federal Courts...and make recommendations in 180 days. From there he will decide what to do. (We also need to win the Senate to be able to make changes)

Say goodbye to pre-existing conditions.

Say goodbye to women’s choice.

Say goodbye to voters’ rights.

Say goodbye to LGBT rights.

Elections have consequences!

It's time to make the Supreme Court completely irrelevant by ignoring their rulings and refusing to follow them. Here going forward.

They wanna play dirty then this Court is illegitimate and will be treated as such.

The fearmongering :messga:

Court experts and conservative judges don’t expect the ACA and abortion to disappear overnight. Its fine until Inauguration. Y’all pushed the mediocre, anti court packing-Joe Biden on us, so if you really care about rights like y’all wont shut up about, phone bank and lobby his stubborn ass + his admin to balance the court.

You aren’t “us”. No one pushed anyone on you, because you don’t live here. You don’t vote in our elections. You will not be impacted by the rulings on basic human rights from this Supreme Court.

There are people here who are legitimately scared of losing their basic human rights, and you take this opportunity to complain about Biden.

First, Biden has to win...and win overwhelmingly enough to keep Trump and the Supreme Court from giving the office back to Trump. Secondly, we have to win back the Senate to do any kind of “Court packing”.

Everything isn’t as easy and black and white as you imagine it to be inside your head.

People here at GGD and in this country are phone banking, volunteering, donating, and standing in line for hours to vote. You are whining about Biden, from your house in Canada.

Let it be known that the Supreme Court said slavery was constitutional and should exist.

Abe didn’t care and still got it cancelled.

Legitimizing the Court is a choice. Saving and expanding rights is up to Biden + his admin to finally stop fetishizing Republican voters and actually act.

At the cost of over a million lives. It started a civil war.

We don’t want another civil war.

But democrats cant do anything about Amy, meanwhile they can fight within their own party :bradley: theyre in the senate minority and republicans are determined to make sure they get a supermajority in the supreme court, no matter what the democrats could have tried it wouldn't have worked.

Here's the thing- thats completely impossible. The court (regardless of how we view it) is a cornerstone of the US and the core principles of the country, ignoring would be so extremely dangerous and would set a precedent that would very much backfire. Of course there are cases where expanding the court was a threat to get through a certain measure, but ignoring it would have such immeasurable consequences, it's not worth it.

The best thing democrats can do (only if they get the supermajority), is to expand the court or to impeach and there has only been 1 supreme court justice to ever have been impeached in US history (it's been over 200 years), But the only way to impeach is to accuse and convict them of a crime. It's an extremely delicate matter.

But guys remember when Nancy Pelosi said they’d “use their quivers” to stop this and actively didn’t

Nancy is in the house, this was dealt by the senate. What could they have done to stop this considering republicans currently hold the majority? Please tell us this magical thing they could have done to stop the confirmation

Democrats need to start fighting dirty. The current Republican MO is to achieve power at all costs. They constantly bend rules, circumvent precedent, and backtrack, all while holding Democrats to absurdly high standards. And for all the conservative bitching about the "liberal media," the media is complicit in this as well. Democrats are expected to be paragons of virtue while Republicans get praised if they wipe their ass with only a small piece of the Constitution instead of a larger one.

We need a blue wave, and we need them to get in there and fight for us.

Its not about completely stopping, its about delaying. Impeach Brett for lying under oath, which automatically gets out above a judge confirmation, delaying the hearing until after the election where she can’t Bush v. Gore Trump into a second term. They also could have ask for unanimous consent on every vote from now til Nov 30, budget limit them, limit the debt ceiling... so many things done to Democrats and they just take the abuse.

For an anti-Trump opposition party... they really didn’t do **** other than tweet 🤢 Its so annoying lmao

The least they can do now is expand the court. Biden’s washy but probably for optics. I’ll freak out when Biden rejects it after the election.

If it were not for the hardcore “Bernie or Bust” crowd in 2016, Clinton would had won the election. We know this for a fact because if every single person in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin who voted for the Green Party candidate voted for Clinton instead, Trump would had been forgotten four years ago.

Instead, we have these immature, fundamentalist, confrontational, everything-is-black-and-white crowd who had a temper tantrum because they didn’t get the toy they wanted who either stayed home or voted for Trump. As a result, polluters have run amok as Trump has rolled back the EPA. As a result, we almost lost protections for pre-existing conditions in 2017, saved only by McCain, and can very well lost pre-existing conditions in California v. Texas. As a result, we have a government who responds to the cries of the oppressed Black people with hateful, racist dog whistle language. As a result, federal agents went in to Portland to harass and arrest peaceful protesters. As a result, white supremacists have felt emboldened to act out on their racial hatreds; my childhood best friend’s school with mainly latin@ [1] students was vandalized with pro-Trump graffiti. As a result, young children, children younger than my daughter, were forcibly taken away from their parents, by our government, and hundreds of kids still have not been reunited with their family.

Tell me this, anyone who won’t vote for Biden because he may not implement the exact form of protections for preexisting conditions or environmental protections you want: Was having all those Black people killed by police with the president’s implicit blessing worth it? Was having those kids, some toddlers, torn away from their parents and put in cages away from their family worth it? [2] Was all of the environmental damage done by Trump rolling back EPA protections worth it? Was losing two left-leaning seats on the Supreme Court worth it?

Until when and if we get ranked choice (instant runoff) voting, the only way elections are won in the US is if people vote for someone who only gives them some of what they want. The sooner the Bernie or Bust types realize this, the sooner we can make the Republican party having power an unpleasant memory.

[1] Latin@ is how you say what some call “latinx” in Spanish

[2] Republicans claim Obama started this policy. As usual, they are lying: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2018/jun/19/matt-schlapp/no-donald-trumps-separation-immigrant-families-was/
