Xoxo Adriana 15,040
hey guys! this is a cool thought i’ve had for many years, being a stan for both Gaga and Ariana. release-wise, they both have had very very similar release strategies and years, and i wanted to go through them w y’all! disclaimer: this thread’s purpose isn’t to bash either artist, especially Ariana. i have been a massive fan of both and have been following their careers for years. this is purely a coincidence as both clearly have very different and incomparable styles. so let’s dive in! DEBUT ALBUMS: Lady Gaga’s “The Fame” was released in 2008, Ariana Grande’s “Yours Truly” was released in 2013. SOPHMORE ALBUMS: Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster” was released in 2009, one year after her debut album. Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” was released in 2014, also one year following her debut album. REMIX ALBUMS: Lady Gaga’s “The Remix” was released in 2010, the next year after TFM. Ariana‘s (also titled) “The Remix” album was released in 2015, also the following year to “My Everything”. the bigger coincidence being both women’s remix albums containing remixed tracks from their first two albums! both artists, two years into their careers, did not release a studio album during this period. THIRD STUDIO ALBUMS: Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” was released in 2011, three years into her career. Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” was released in 2016, also three years into her career. both albums happened to be their boldest and daring work to date, and both ended up making huge success just like their previous two albums. FOURTH STUDIO ALBUMS: Lady Gaga’s “ARTPOP” was released in 2013, 5 years into her career. Ariana Grande’s “Sweetener” was released in 2018, also 5 years into her career. both albums are equally as iconic and memorable (despite gaga not remembering it). the release curse was pretty much broken once Ariana released her fifth studio album “Thank U, Next” just 6 months after Sweetener in 2019 just imagine if Gaga released the second volume to ARTPOP, also 6 months post-ARTPOP release like she originally teased. this would’ve lined up PERFECTLY with Thank U, Next’s release! these women were DESTINED to collab! Gaga a feature on “Positions” confirmedT this would lowkey be a Gaga/Beyoncè moment too as Gaga + Beyoncè featured on each others albums in the SAME YEAR! we have no choice but to stan this

Blastertoyo 22,728
I always thought Sweetener/TUN was Ariana’s TF/TFM especially with both of the eras talking about the downsides of fame and fortune before and after they were thrust into Main Pop Girl-dom I also made a thread of all their life and career similarities here aka what Gaga and Ari could bond over while they made ROM and became friends please enlighten me to death

whoresup 2,745
Except for debut album selling over 15 million copies and getting 1million+ first week US sales with second album, only one has those EDIT: Just kidding I love Ari
Biggest Bitch 5,230
Yes, the timelines are similar, except the success. I don't hate Ariana, but her success is so overrated She's only popular among teenage girls + She released 5 albums so far, but TUN is her only memorable album

ShayCristoforo 10,607
We all ate them up bc of Rain On Me. Imagine them starring in a movie together. I need them to be in Wicked the movie. Gaga as Elphaba, Ariana as Glinda. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

Literally EVERYONE loves Ariana. Adults, Teens, Kids, Straights, Gays, Men, Women. Older people love her for many similar reasons to Gaga (vocal strength, famous covers, traditional training). Younger love how trendy and influential she is (particularly for someone so young, and in appearance she looks even younger) I got drunk
